More Trailer Talk

Part Two of the Movie Trailer Discussion
is now available for reading.

In this second half of our earlier conversation Joe Reid and I are discussing three more movies. Posey & Rudd go for big laughs in marital sex comedy The Oh in Ohio, Pixar's Ratatouille, and the Kate Winslet / Cameron Diaz romantic comedy The Holiday. On this last: sorry guys, the romance therein is not between those two beauties. Neither is the comedy apparently (it's a parallel story thing)

Return to discuss the trailers in the comments if you have something to say... And you should. I mean: Kate Winslet in a romantic comedy! Ya gotta have feelings about that.

are kate and jack supposed to have something romantic going on in the holiday'? 'cause that trailer makes them look like "just friends" compared to jude and cameron.

i'll be skipping cars and saving myself for rat-a-too-ee.

I'm really looking forward to The Holiday (although at this point I'm looking forward to anything with Kate in it...having slight withdrawal symptoms over here!). It is INCREDIBLY surreal to see her in a trailer like that. Just...jarring. But I'm so excited that she's branching out and doing new stuff. It's not that I don't like her "Corset Movies", but I LOVE seeing her in a modern setting.

I can tell that I'm going to be one of the "Enough Cam and Jude, let's get back to Kate and Jack!" people.

I hadn't heard of that Posey-Rudd movie till now. Yay for Parker Posey in a lead role!

After Cars and that smug reminiscent-of-Dreamworks Ratatouille trailer, I'm officially giving up on Pixar.

"I still feel bad In Her Shoes flopped so badly."

Too right. That movie was great. I rewatched it just the other night. Just so good. Oh well, people are fickle i suppose.

I really enjoyed the Ratatoille one. I don't see it as being smug-ala-Dreamworks at all. I loved the line-reading of "I don't want to eat garbage dad"

Oh, and I really want to see The Holiday. They have a great cast.

I'm so excited for "The Oh in Ohio". Parker Posey is the most consistently funny comedienne out there, but she can also do some "real acting" too.
