My Best Villain: Frank Butterman. (Sorry Chigurh, but you're not a villain, you're just a trumped up minion.)

Why? 1. Unending revenge plot. (If they failed, he'd still be killing the flakes of Sandford.) 2. Personal ties to a hero. 3. Charismatic as performed by Broadbent.

OMG that Bardam/Cruz and Pitt/Jolie comment du jour is about the funniest one yet!

This is good bitchery, but being #666, couldn't you find a quote form Rosemary's Baby or some other satanic themed situation?

  4. I kinda have a older lady crush on her. Of course I say that not having a clue how old she actually is...

  5. chris -- well, since Mrs. Carmody is such a God fanatic -- and God fanatics are usually so demonic in actuality -- i figured it was appropriate ;)

Guess I need to see "The Mist" now. Ha.

Do you actually have a list of "Great Moments in Screen Bitchery?" created, or is this just something you're making up on the fly?

  8. That's the kind of line I'd imagine an actor reads in a script and is like, look, I'm taking this part no matter how good or bad the rest of the script is, I just need to be the one who gets filmed for posterity saying it.

  9. Orion:
Definitely see it, King films are rarely made well (see for example: It, The Stand, both versions of Salems Lot). But Frank Darabont just knows how to shoot those stories I guess.

The Shining is always a winner though.

  10. Only MGH can carry on the tradition of campy-yet-believable horror villainesses, after Piper Laurie and Bette Davis. Bra. Vo.

One of the most underrated horror films EVER! MGH was so good in this film.

  12. She is the only reason I can sit through The Mist. I'm with it until they reveal the monster design in the storage room, then I'm taken right out of the story. But this magnificent Bible-thumping villain draws me back in with every line.
