I'm ready for Drew Barrymore to get her Oscar film so much now (she rocked the hell out of "Grey Gardens"), and "Whip It" surely won't be it, but maybe that's okay too. There's still time and all. That could be a really fun comedy, and from what I heard about it previously, it seemed really throwaway and frivolous. I'd see that opening night. Yay Drew, Ellen, Kristin, Eve, and Marcia! Looking forward to seeing this now.Daveynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8256060.post-43966291715448415292009-07-18T12:51:00.309-04:002009-07-18T12:51:00.309-04:00I'm sorry....what? I highly doubt that whatever it is she's got can be morphed into something even remotely resembling a believable accent. And, she is quintessentially, in every way, the apathetic don't-want-to-be-here teen concession worker at your local multi-plex. I don't think she's getting scripts that call for an accent.FilmFreaknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8256060.post-14995726995802163762009-07-17T12:10:16.191-04:002009-07-17T12:10:16.191-04:00Juno 2 : In the Valley of the DykesJuno 2 : In the Valley of the Dykesmaximnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8256060.post-82110715233227582912009-07-17T11:55:54.479-04:002009-07-17T11:55:54.479-04:00A dyke-fest directed by Drew Boreymore ? Agreed about Page retreading her Juno role. Her voice is so limited. I think she has it in her to do some great work (she's loose on screen and able to find the balance between comedy and drama without hamming it up or straining herself). Yet that nasal, deadpan voice is so "Juno" that I sense she'll fade out in the next year or so and work every now and then in the odd indie film where they will no doubt tagline the film as "Academy Award Nominee Ellen Page" to re-familiarize audiences as to who she is....Excited for "Whip it!" though. (Love Marcia. Even if she hits a few bumps in the road she always pours all she has in every character, even in FLUBBER for god sakes).

- Sean C.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8256060.post-15496112012054897482009-07-16T20:03:52.821-04:002009-07-16T20:03:52.821-04:00Two Words: Beef Supreme
