Oh my. Things that ...Predicting the film bitches? Oh my.

Things that could be described as filmbitch bait: leading ladies, stars, ensembles (note: actual ensembles, meaning interaction between many cast members, well cast minor roles, etc), a definable but not excessive aesthetic.

So, it's between THE CLASS and RACHEL GETTING MARRIED for the top spot, using his own grades as a guide. MILK, REPRISE, WALLE, and THE WRESTLER are fighting for those three spots, and I think MILK will be the one kicked to sixth. TROUBLE THE WATER is not eligible, because Nathaniel's a big meanie to documentaries (not the real reason, but we'll go with it).

So the final four slots in his ten? Well, HAPPY-GO-LUCKY was a borderline A-/B+ movie before he settled on B+, so does that mean he found more problems with it that knocked it down a notch? Will his appreciation of the refreshingly adult ELEGY boost it up? Will A CHRISTMAS TALE suffer in comparison to KINGS AND QUEEN - afterall, it's the boyfriend who's the francophile, not the film bitch? Will Woody return?

If you look at Nathaniel's previous top tens (as he groans in the background, wondering how exactly he became the obsession of so many), the lower portion generally lists good/great Hollywood productions with less substance (BRING IT ON, X2, THE INCREDIBLES, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA) and auteurs who he doesn't entirely embrace or lesser works from ones he does (DOGVILLE, BAD EDUCATION, THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS, INSIDE MAN, THE DEPARTED).

So, predicting his top ten...

1. Rachel Getting Married
2. The Class
3. The Wrestler
4. WALL.E

5/6. Reprise
5/6. Milk

7. Elegy
8. Happy-Go-Lucky
9. A Christmas Tale
10.
