But anyways, Sissy Spacek as Violet? That's certainly a way to go with the character. You know someone who would be AWESOME as Violet? Blythe Danner. This could finally be her big Oscar in after a great career in stage and television. It's kind of criminal that this woman has never been nominated for an Oscar, but her daughter's won one. But we all know the role's going to Meryl. In response to Mrripley, I HAVE seen all of those films so let me clarify, forgive the hyperbole, she's not literally the same in every role, I just don't see her as a massively versatile actress like Streep, Barbara Hershey, Joan Allen, Dianne Weist etc. She has a wan screen presence and I truly cannot see a difference between her Loretta Lynne and her Babe in "Crimes of the Heart". I also found "In the Bedroom" a completely useless performance with many, many missed opportunities.

- Sean C.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8256060.post-39412818485893148032009-07-12T15:07:41.044-04:002009-07-12T15:07:41.044-04:00anon 1:40 there is a movie in the works. just clic...anon 1:40 there is a movie in the works. just click for the previous post that this post mentions (there's a link)NATHANIEL Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11597109147678235399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8256060.post-56034674344767119992009-07-12T14:27:48.170-04:002009-07-12T14:27:48.170-04:00That Oscar belonged to Kidman, but Berry was very ...That Oscar belonged to Kidman, but Berry was very very good.cal rothnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8256060.post-84944737232047773952009-07-12T13:58:08.261-04:002009-07-12T13:58:08.261-04:00pissed halle beat her and nicole.pissed halle beat her and nicole.mrripleynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8256060.post-5071193413923279412009-07-12T13:50:25.437-04:002009-07-12T13:50:25.437-04:00Love love LOVE her. I've always thought of either Meryl or Glenn for it (imaginative, I know). I hope they would give Sissy a new look or something for the role. It seems like she's in that loose bob for so long now. Kinda like the way Katharine Hepburn was looking so similar in role after role, and my suspension of disbelief is only so high. There needs to be some variety somewhere. But it is true that Sissy Spacek deserves a role soon that merits her talent again. None of that "North Country" nonsense that just about any run-of-the-mill actress could have pulled off adequately.BillBillnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8256060.post-55588808963708097582009-07-12T05:58:56.265-04:002009-07-12T05:58:56.265-04:00Schindler's List?
