One of Leigh's best. And the two leads at their finest. The Mikado, with Timothy Spall! Too many fun times to remember!

Sean, Mike Leigh's Oscar-winning Topsy-Turvy.

This movie is one of the very few that I've purchased on DVD without seeing it prior. It was $4 (FOUR!) and I got it and I loved it. So great. The performance of The Mikado is so enjoyable.

Happy we can call it an Oscar-winner too.

It was because of TOPSY-TURVY that I insisted on referring to Winterbottom's TRISTRAM SHANDY as "A COCK-AND-A-BULL STORY" rather than the listed title. Almost none of my friends got the reference. Oh well.

KC~~~ no way you'd find the DVD for 4 bucks in the states. It's currently out of print and is going for formidable prices on eBay.

Ouch. $4 here equals something like $3 in America, too.

I love, love, love Topsy-Turvy. I wish Leigh would make another film with musical numbers.
