Words of Wisdom from Catalina Sandino Moreno

"I just think you have to be good at one thing. You just have to learn that craft. I'm not going to launch any perfumes and I'm not going to start singing."

  1. Off topic, but Lust, Caution has been rated NC17 and Focus aren't going to fight it. Yikes.

On topic, I really like Moreno. Strange to think that she's an Academy Award nominee though.

The banner? From a cursory glance I would say the actresses with the most individual Oscar noms.

  6. Post: I like her now!
L,C: NC-17? Dear god! And I actually thought I had a chance to see it! Jeez!
Banner: I still see the old one. That should wear off, right?

  7. i'm pretty shocked about the LC thing. i can't imagine why. god the repression about sex just gets worse and worse

JD if you don't see the new banner you can just refresh your screen a couple of times and it should pop up

I much prefer my actresses to abandon the craft as soon as they show promise, get coked up, and crash their car into a tree. I hate trees.

nice to see she has got a good head on her shoulders, her Oscar nom was probably one of the most deserved Oscar noms in history.

Not that I needed a reason to like Catalina more than I already do, but that quote of hers was awesomeness.

  14. I adore this woman. Brilliant in 'Maria Full of Grace' and deeply moving, even in her seven minute segment of 'Paris Je T'aime'.

And yeah, the 'Lust, Caution' thing shocked the hell out of me. Definitely moved it up on my list of things to see, (NC-17 erotic thriller? We don't get too many of them anymore.)

Plus, I'm waiting to get around to an Ang Lee film I undoubtedly love. I dig Crouching Tiger and Brokeback, but both have their drawbacks. The Ice Storm as well... few moments of perfection outweighed by traditional family dysfunction.

She's dissing Scarlett Johansson or Halle Berry ( who supposedly is also having an album out).

Anyway, 2pac was an actor before he was a rapper. He went to a school of Performing arts. So I disagree with her.

So is she saying that there is no possible way to learn two crafts?

I think if you have talent and if you are passionate about two different crafts go for it.

P.S. I don't think she is dissing anyone in particular though.

I saw that as a clear dig at J-Lo, Sarah Jessica Parker, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Eve, etc.

    Grrrrrrrrr Catalina!

My parent's told me to be good in EVERYTHING that I do not just one thing.

Tupac started out in acting, but he is more known as a rapper.

    Good point.

This girl is so great....and she's got so many movies coming, ya know? Maybe JLo COULD take some advice seeing as El Cantante seems to already have come and gone....
