There was also apparently trouble with Russell Crowe demanding certain things and the director (of special Aussie treat Proof, about a blind photographer played by Hugo Weaving and with Russell Crowe as his friend) wasn't too happy.

But it was extremely odd that they cast Kidman in the first place because the character is meant to be in her teens I believe. She was meant to be played by Abbie Cornish, from Somersault and the upcoming Heath Ledger movie Candy who actually is young.

Anyway.

Anything by Luhrmann and/or Kidman immediately piques my interest and my appetite is whetted by this news. Plus Russell Crowe is just an excellent addition (when he ever less than good).

And I'm glad it's going to be an Australian movie. Yes, financed by America, but Australian nonetheless (like Moulin Rouge!).

I am randomly feeling patriotic about Australian lately. Odd.

-GlennGlenn Dunkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05424659636310160482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8256060.post-1133155998953158862005-11-28T00:33:00.000-05:002005-11-28T00:33:00.000-05:00Why did Eucalyptus go under anyway? But I'm glad he's abandoned the "Alexander" project for now; he should wait a few years until the bad taste of Stone's version leaves the public mind (although I am one of the few who liked his take...)

Re: "Cinderella Man" - I gave it the same grade!
