I remember you writing a piece a while back bemoaning the fact that HAMLET gets adapted over and over while nobody really does MACBETH. But if you think about Polanski's version, you realize- they don't NEED to, since nobody could top it.

Personally, I'm waiting for the definitive OTHELLO. Welles' version is darn good, especially since Michael MacLiammoir gets Iago down perfect, but as an adaptation/big screen translation there's still room for improvement.Paul C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02699493473242261477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8256060.post-535860449262915072007-07-25T09:19:00.000-04:002007-07-25T09:19:00.000-04:00Beautiful screenshot - what film is that from?RedS...Beautiful screenshot - what film is that from?

RedSatinDollAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8256060.post-63402802601411101082007-07-25T08:42:00.000-04:002007-07-25T08:42:00.000-04:00I was looking through your best actor nominations....I was looking through your best actor nominations. Don't you think Christian Bale in Rescue Dawn has a stronger showing than Rank No.10? That movie has been steadily acquiring positive reviews, and its war themes are particularly resonant in this day and age. Plus, its Herzog as director; how often do you get to see that?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
