Cate Blanchett should do another movie where she's a glamour girl, like in The Man Who Cried. She's wasting her red carpet gift on... the red carpet. No reason not to put blow that up on 70 mm, you know? *
Doesn't that (the jewish thing) happen often? I mean, aren't there a lot of Jewish people in America? That's always been my understanding.
Nathaniel, she did look ravishing in her Hepburn closet in The Aviator, but you're right... she's always so stylish (and even when she's not she's doing incredibly bizarre, out of the box things - hello crocheted rug dress!) so why isn't that taken advantage of more by Cate, by casting directors and by directors?
She was so beautiful in Benjamin Button... And I don't think she is THAT beautiful. She is more of a Fashion icon, like Tilda Swinton, than a naturally beautiful woman, like Rachel Weisz, for example. Style is not exactly beauty.
Cate Blanchett would have killed in silent pictures. Or during the 40s and 50s.
Hell, she's great for anytime. Cate has the looks, the style, and the know how of a true movie star.
And, she's a real actress. This woman is great. Any word on what her next film is after "Hanna"? I've been hoping we would get a "Hedda Gabler" or "A Streetcar Named Desire" starring her on screen again. But really, anything with her in the central role will do.
Never EVER get what's the big deal 'bout The Blanchett. Doesn't do ANYTHING for me...she kind of look like an albino (not that there's anything wrong with that...)
The thing about Blanchett is that she has a different kind of beauty, she's not Nicole Kidman or Kate Winslet; she's indeed closer to Katharine Hepburn but a more stylish Katharine Hepburn and she's got an incredibly versatile appearance, very feminine and very masculine at the same time(not trying to offend her, I love her for that) and she reminds me of Tilda Swinton, when I was younger and not really into movies I would think it's the same person LOL
I'm not sure what the future of "Indian Summer" is, anyone knows anything about that?
Ooh I haven't liked the stuff she's been wearing lately but I LOVE this. I think Blanchett's best style was for the award season in 2005. The woman manages to balance being really edgy and unusual yet at the same time sooo elegant. She just screams regal. And she's beautiful in a Marlene Dietrich way.
Stunning, but it does look like they caught her coming out of the ladies
ReplyDeleteIs it me or does it seem odd that the 5 leads in aronofsky's black swan are jewish!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's just you.

She is a goddess.
ReplyDeleteJews are a minority to Christians by a wide margin here.
ReplyDeleteLovely Cate photo as always.

ReplyDeleteI wonder when she will start directing movies cause she certainly learn lots of Liv Ullmann.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one waiting and waiting for a movie adaption of The Streetcar named desire with Cate Blanchett directed by Liv Ullmann?
I want to see her work with Aronofsky, Tarantino and Wang Kar Wai
