Lists as Queue

I love "greatest movie" lists. Here's another one. The best thing about such movie lists is that it plans your rental queue for you if you're stumped as to what you should see next. On the other hand, there are so many... where to begin?

Some Other Lists To Choose From Sight & Sound Polls / The Cinemarati Canon Cinemarati.org / 100 Greatest Films -Tim Dirks / "The AFI 400" -on Jeeem's Cinepad /

Post links to other lists in the comments please. I'm in a listing mood.

Listmania on Amazon.com is like sex. You can list all you want and get links to SO many other related lists...it's a list-maker's heaven.

It's rather unfortunate I haven't seen enough qualifying films for a top 100 of all time list. I can't wait till the day I'm able to compile one. Right now I get to about..64.

Here's a personal top 10 of my own:

    1. Mulholland Drive
    2. Moulin Rouge!
    3. Terminator 2: Judgement Day
    4. Rear Window
    5. American Psycho
    6. Pleasantville
    7. Thelma & Louise
    8. The Third Man
    9. Psycho
    10. The Breakfast Club

11-20 is much heavier, it's just those those are the ones i ENJOY watching over and over and over again. Except the end of T&L cause I cry like a baby on cue. "Let's keep goin Thelma"

I am actually doing a Top 150 countdown on my blog. I started a while ago but like yourself I haven't gotten around to finishing it. And like yours it's not a Best 150 ever made or whatever it's just my own little made-for-fun list of movies I really like. It's nowhere near set-in-stone because I haven't seen half the films I want to, but I'll get there.

Unlike some people (mostly critics) I have no qualms with putting modern films on the list. Infact, the list is predominantly 1985 onwards purely because I was born in 1985 and so naturally I've seen more movies from that period.

Recent additions to the Top 150 are "On The Waterfront", "The Magnificent Ambersons" and "Gaslight"

Please do not use "anonymous" option. Use NAME/URL (the url is optional). It helps the conversation flow. It's good manners.
