What a great, underappreciated film. DreamWorks should have released this in December 2002 instead of "Catch Me if You Can." Probably one of Spielberg's best.
It's true this is one of Spielberg's best. And also one of the Cruise's best...and one of the better Dick's adaptations...even if Scott Frank and Jon Cohen added several things to the plot compared to the short tale. I'm not so enthusiast about Kathryn Morris or even about Max Von Sydow as the villain, but I was sorry Colin Farrell hasn't more screen time and Production values are outstanding. Samantha Morton should have been at least nominated as best supporting actress...actually her perf is quite better than the two for which she received the nominations...
As typical with Spielberg, the ending is far too tidy (unless you go with the "it's really a dream" theory that some suggest), but even with that problem this a really great movie. Very under-appreciated, like most of Spielberg's work this decade if you ask me.
I love this movie too, but I'm shocked - SHOCKED, I say! - that there's such a love-fest going on in here. Everywhere I go, strangers come up to me on the street and they scream without provocation, "Minority Report sucks!" and then they pull on my hair and run away laughing. It's a terror, being me, being Minority Report, and finally, being Steven Spielberg. A terror.
Whoa.. what movie is this from? I feel like I should know, running a movie blog myself... lol.
