Yeah, my mom was stupid enough to get me Sudoku for christmas when I don't even play it. What is the point of that? What is she thinking? I haven't got near it. If I do, I will develop yet another pointless addiction, and that is the last thing I need.
It was invented by American Howard Garns in 1979, but it never caught on here. It was first published as Number Place in "Dell Pencil Puzzles and Word Games." A Japanese guy who worked for a newspaper liked it and brought to Japan in 1984 where it soon became very popular.
Seriously, it grabs you so hard that you have no time for your OLD obsessions! I don't know whether to advocate staying away or recommend getting hooked.
i advocate staying away because even when i want to do something else I dont.
of course it is a remarkably good thing to do when you have to be quiet (others sleeping) and you can't use your computer (eyes glazed over from staring at the screen)

Yeah, so glad i never started trying that. I know my brain isn't that well equipped.
Still haven't tried one...as if I need another addiction...who has time for that?
