Presenting The Oscar Symposium
I try to come up with something new every year for Oscar. I've called in extra troops--asked some friends and strangers along for a discussion of all things AMPAS. The Symposium begins tomorrow morning. Let me know what you think as it rolls out for the next week. Without further ado... the introduction.

Being younger than most Oscarwatchers I lost my Oscar virginity just five years ago, when, to quote Joe, good (LOTR) lost to evil (A Beautiful Mind).
I'm excited about this.
I lost my Oscar virginity in 1992 when I saw Emma Thompson in Howards End. The movie - and the performance - made me look at movies in a whole new way.
