Supporting Actor Poll
The final "Reader's Choice" poll for the acting categories is up at the main site. Are you all about Joe Gould, Jack Twist, Bob, Officer Ryan, or Richie Cusack? And if you, the TFE readers, go for a clean sweep for Brokeback, which one of these men will really throw down with 'Jack Nasty' before he ends up on top? Vote.

The only nominee I can wholeheartedly throw my support behind is William Hurt. Clooney, Giamatti and Dillon did absolutely nothing for me, while Gyllenhaal is in the wrong category.
Hurt was my vote as well due to Jake's category fraud. But I love Jakey-poos performance.
You know, I'm surprised at how much I accepted Jake in supporting. It wasn't as flagrant as Jamie Foxx last year, for example (or pushing Watts there for Mulholland Drive). The story belonged to both of them, but I thought Ledger/Ennis was the movie's true lead. That, and I think the leading category is too crowded, whereas supporting feels rather empty to me.
The supporting lineup this year is really weak. I voted for Gyllenhall not because I want Brokeback mountain to sweep, but just because I feel his is the best peformance this year.
I don't buy Giamatti, Dillon was just fine and Hurt was good but not as great as Jake. (I haven't seen Clooney, though).
