Highly Flawed Dads. Performances Without Flaws: I would've had Dennis Quaid in Far From Heaven somewhere near the top.
Can I cast a vote for Harry Dean Stanton in Pretty in Pink? Depressed though he is, I love how he plays his scenes with Molly Ringwald.
Stanton also makes me think of The Straight Story which makes me think of Richard Farnsworth and his great bond with Sissy Spacek. Just thinking about The Straight Story gives me goose pimples.
Meanwhile, I'm stupid. I just noticed the '00-'05 thing. I feel like I just spilled a drink on myself at a party.
