The Post Office reopens today just in time for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to mail out those Oscar ballots. Oscar hopefuls like to be fresh in the minds of voters when they have that pen and paper in hand. So ask yourself this: who and what's happened this past week that's bound to be on AMPAS's collective mind?

Maybe Dreamgirls' box office for Christmas Day
I was just about to say that....Notes on a Scandal kind of "bombed" when it opened yesterday to one theatres in NY...it made only 5,ooo....But hopefully Jackie Earle Haley will be in people's minds.
Children of Men - Oscar glory written all over it?

Sensational opening for a sensational film.
That's a damn fine number for Dreamgirls, debuting at #2 on a third of the screens. Yowza.
