We made chocolate milk and I went on my computer. I'm so excited. I just got a new computer, a MacBook, so I was playing games. And then I had a buttered roll. It's almost "Penny"-like (Pee-Wee's Playhouse) in that sudden "buttered roll" detail, isn't it? Too funny.

Little Miss Quoted
Don't know if you've seen Movie City News roundup of Oscar Nominee quotes but it's fun. Eddie Murphy's statement is non-committal enthusiasm. Mark Wahlberg's Boston Police joke is funny. But you have to love Abigail Breslin's quote with its meandering little kid charm:

Maybe I'm a gross cynic, but it's also a little bit "let Olive have her ice cream," i.e., "My treat for being a 10-year-old who managed to snag a major Oscar nomination was that I was allowed to have 1 oz. of trans-fat." I bet Keira Knightley celebrated the same way last year.
maybe ? you're a gross cynic.
;)
I LOVE HER SO MUCH.
I don't. I'm not really into child actors with a few exceptions (ie Mckenzie Vega in Sin City).
They scare the hell out of me.
Aww, come on, she's no preternaturally wise creepfest like Dakota is or Haley Joel Osment was. She seems like a nice normal kid.
I heart the Peter O'Toole quote as well (getting the number right on the number of try's for us Oscar junkies).
Also, Nat, may I say that I heart the Now Voyager banner-that is without a doubt one of the sexiest scenes in film history.
Breslin rocks.
However...
Trust me to make it all about The Dench (!), but I love this quote:
"I'm very pleased. I'm in frighteningly good company. It is very nice of the queen to allow me in for a minute."
Savvy enough to realise that she's not got a hope in hell, and able to make a cute soundbite out of it.

I second the Abigail Breslin love.
I'd flip my shit if she won.
I just recently realized Nick Park was involved in making those Penny shorts using the same basic audio concept as Creature Comforts.
"And then I had a buttered roll." is the best part. Like, she's not normally allowed to have buttered roles or what?
