this is my fav movie (along with Dancer in the Dark and, since yesterday, Dangerous Liaisons)...does that reveal something about my personality? probably...hmmmm
love badalamenti's score to this movie (and all of his lynch movies for that matter) its so perfect for epressing the dark undertones (since it is actually dark undertones)...gah...I wanna watch it right now!
Oh god, I had a dream the other night that me and my group of friends all lived in that exact apartment complex. It was awesome and not at all scary and foreboding.
The movie however is more awesome. Sublime.

Question: the street I remember in the San Fernando Valley was spelled "Hayvenhurst". Was that the street they referred to in the movie and, if so, was it misspelled in the movie?
i don't know how it's spelled in teh movie. it's just the address that betty/diane says to the taxi driver.
i was typing how i thought it would be spelled.
I was going to say Mulholland Drive, but I guess I'm glad to see that other people have seen the movie
I surprised myself at how instantly I recognised that shot. It's funny how entrenched certain scenes end up being in our memory, like old song lyrics you don't realise you've retained.
This selection is brilliant for the series Nat - such an appropriately silent, eerie and foreboding shot.
Because I'm a Mulholland Drive nerd, I can settle the debate about the address.
It's fake. There is a Havenhurst (that's how it's spelt in directories I believe) but it doesn't go up to 1612 (it stops at 1500).
The real address of the building if people want to see it for themselves is 490 North Sycamore Avenue. It's a complex called "Il Borghese" and was also used in The Truth About Cats and Dogs.

Maybe you can also answer this: Is there really a Beachwood Canyon? How would I get to the top of it? Is there really a corral there?
