Rita: (laughter)

I think this is one of Scorcese's greatest, way under-recognized. As disturbing as Taxi Driver, but also funny.
I totally agree. It's a great, great film.
I was really hoping I'd catch Sandra Bernhard at the 20:07 point just because she's so phenomenal in this, but I couldn't pass up Bob saying the title of the movie either.
De Niro's greatest performance, and my No.3 Scorcese movie.
Yeah, definitely one of Scorsese's and DeNiro's best. But, really, Sandra Bernhard just, quite simple, gives one of the greatest supporting performances ever. Any movie. Any actor. Any time. Just flat out amazing.
yeah, she so totally shoulda been nominated. inimitable
incidentally: my favorite Scorsese
give or take Taxi Driver
I don't think I could ever dethrone Taxi Driver as my absolute fave Scorsese, but KoC comes close.
And I even though I admit it's not in the same league as those two, I reeeeally love watching Age of Innocence.
I need to go back and watch Goodfellas again, I haven't seen it in probably 10 years and I wasn't a big fan of it back then, but my tastes have since - for the better, one might argue - changed. I might "get it" better now than I did then.
If we ever get around to this year, Sandra's an easy candidate for the Overlooked series. Yes, I think this movie could definitely be my favorite Scorsese too, the most relatable one over all his others. =(
Taxi Driver, Age of Innocence, Goodfellas, Last Temptation of Christ and King of Comedy would probably make up my top 5 in some order. Taxi Driver would be #1 though for sure.
King Of Comedy to me is scarier than Taxi Driver.
Where does After Hours fall for everyone?
