I love "Persona".
One of the most amazing faces to ever have a camera pointed at it. I could just stare at her for hours.
Yes, Persona is such a powerful film. I saw it for the first time 5 years ago, and I was amazed at how mordern it felt. Love it!

Having seen the film, I honestly can't see her getting a nod. It's a solid enough turn, but nowhere near as impressive as the work on Pride, and unless they "demote" her to support (where a case COULD be made) I can't see it happening.
Unless this proves to be as weak a field as 1994 or 2005, I'd file under "also ran".

A Bergman series starts at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco tomorrow. Persona plays next week, and I can't wait to see it on the big screen!

I will try. October's a hectic month for me and lengthy reports require a long period of concentration. But your suggestion is a good way to light a little fire under my feet.
