Check out this gorgeous photo slide show at New York magazine.
How great is their taste in "women of the year" and how wonderful is the essay idea? Carice van Houten, Julie Christie, Laura Linney and Tilda Swinton. Yes, please. Times four.

The image of Carice is particularly alluring, doncha think?
Dear Mr. R.,
Calling her the Lovely Laura Linney was a found. Keep doing it.

La Vie En Rose is now on on demand - I watched it last night. Yes, she was pretty amazing - excellent. however, there were some occasional over-the-top "Lucy" looks every now & then. these bio-pics are getting really old - these amazing charicatures / imitations...johnny & june carter cash, ray charles, truman capote, the murderess portrayed by charlize theron, etc, etc...it just seems when someone does one of these great imitations - they win an oscar. looking back - what was so extraordinary about reese witherspoon or PS Hoffman? i'll bet that new nixon movie with martha mitchell, helen thomas, etc - will generate easy oscar nominations / wins. janis joplin, anna nicole smith (starring keira knightly? - imagine the weight gain!), kurt cobain, all coming soon.
