I LOVE that movie. Probably my favorite Hitchcock. Tippi Hedrin is such a bitch in that movie, and I love it.

OT :

White Oleander was on TV in Europe last night. Mediocre film, terribly Hollywood-ized, but frankly who else but Pfeiffer can make something out of that role ? Her character is unbelievable and her lines downright awful and she still manages to make it work. She's so fuckin' charismatic

And is it me or it's Zellweger's most restrained performance ever ? No squinting, no over-the top crying or laughing, she was really good in a somewhat underwritten role

Besides, that, were Pfeiffer, Wright Penn and Zellweger competing for Best Skinny Actress in a supporting role or what ??

I hear ya, kitten. (I am of course in the Jessica Tandy role, just off at the edges...)

I think it's one of Pfeiffer's three best performances, personally. She's just spot on. Zeroing in on the maximum drama and emotional carnage in every sequence.

love her in that.

but i think the movie is better than it gets credit for, too. and the whole cast is good. it's the last zellweger performance i love, too.

Can I be Suzanne Pleshette?

While 'Life' is attacking you from all sides - just remember:

It's going after the children first.

Most of the attackers are fake, plastic, and oddly made.

When all else fails, call on Suzanne Pleshette... she'll risk all to save you.
