I think Freud would say that Toni Collette relies on some sexual side of her subconscious as an actor because she's always so willing to throw herself passionately into the demands of a role. And not even in a physical, de-glam sense...in that she's always such a lucid, eager performer who seems like she's about to teeter over the edge to a release, perfectly capturing that mix of pleasure and frustration.
AKA Toni Collette is an orgasm to watch.
On a completely different topic: I watched the documentary "Man On Wire" today and it was very good. I liked that they kept it down to 90 minutes. Movies that are too long make me think that the director just isn't skilled enough to know how to properly tighten up a film.
In that case... can I be the fifht?

There is no film I want to see more in the world than this one. I'm dieing to see it, and have been for years. They need to release it in Australia.

Jofo, Velvet Goldmine is very much available in Australia. Might take a bit of digging, but it's there and with the recent release of Poison all of Haynes' films are now on DVD.
