Ha, I was going to say The Thin Man's Asta, which is the same dog as in The Awful Truth. :)

I'm a cat person IRL, too, but I can't think of any really great movie cats off the top of my head...Cat from Breakfast at Tiffany's? Or That Darn Cat? Baby from Bringing Up Baby?

The toaster from The Brave Little Toaster. I'll make him very welcome.

Do 6' talking rabbits count?

Shadow from "Homeward Bound." He is hands down the best, cutest, most loyal dog in movie history.

Lassie from the original Lassie Come Home. Roddy McDowell can still make me cry at the end.

Buckley in The Royal Tenenbaums. Very handsome dog.

Can I say Frankenweenie too? If I ever get a dog I want a Frankenweenie.

"cat" from breakfast at tiffanys....wet of course. audrey & i would search for him/her through the streets of NY while it's pouring.

Probably the Luck Dragon from Neverending Story... or Gizmo from Gremlins.

You can tell I'm a child of the 1980s, can't you? ;)

I change Teddy. I choose Murry from Who's That Girl.
I am a cat person BIG time and he comes accessorized.

NATHANIEL R said...

michael i had totally forgotten about Murry. thanks for reminder. the accessories alone, once sold, could keep him in food for a long long while.

i'm guessing he eats a lot too.

Gizmo is a great choice. Or Stitch from Lilo & Stitch. Underrated movie, that.

Nate, I like to keep 'em huge and furry!

(post-transformation the Beast looks like my dad, and that's a bit too much for me.)

I would make Kate Beckinsale my pet. Put her on a leash and have her walk around with me everywhere. There would be lots of licking.

Balthasar, the donkey, from Au Hasard Balthasar.

Toto of course!

Asta from the Thin Man movies. He looks good, is talented, and can mix a mean martini.

The dog from As Goods As It Gets.

The Black from "The Black Stallion".

For dogs, I like Jimmy Bean's dog in "Pollyanna" or the youngest brother's dog in "Summer Magic".

That's one thing I thought interesting about Viggo Mortensen - he did take home the horse that he rode in LOTR and also the horse in that other western he made after LOTR (I think that horse was called Paint - I don't remember the name of the other horse).

Definetly Stitch from Lilo & Stitch!

Cheers.
