- Gratuitous Violins sees this holiday classic for the first time and shares her thoughts (and a first name "Esther" with Judy's character. How nifty)
- Here and There and Everywhere CrazyCris loves Garland. What's not to love?
- Movies Kick Ass looks into the blossoming romance of Garland & Minelli behind the scenes. That led to Liza Minelli, so it's more than just a movie. It's an event.
Clang!Clang!Clang! Went the trolley...

Have yourself a merry little christamas
Meet Me in St. Louis is one of the best musical films ever made.
And one of my favourite ever renditions of a Christmas carol!
I love this movie.
I've never seen it, so I set my DVR. (Although I have heard the Clang, clang, clang goes the trolley song.) And I didn't realize that Judy's character's name is Esther!
this has to be my favourite musical ever!!! and this sequence... wonderful!
how do we participate on the 6th?
you write something on your blog / site / livejournal / my space blog... whatever you use.
write something online, let me know you did and i link up
(it's like a mini version of a blog-a-thon ;)
I'm surprised no one has listed A Miracle on 34th Street! That's one of my favourites and a must see during the season along with White Christmas! Also have a blast with Holiday Inn (although it's not limited to Christmas).
And also not a Christmas movie, but among my favourites if for no other reason than a beautiful rendition of my favourite Christmas song "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" Meet Me In Saint Louis :o)
I'm with you Nat, the holiday season can't start soon enough! December is my favourite month of the year! And in Spain we're lucky enough that Christmas doesn't finish 'till 3 Kings Day on January 6th!!! ;o)
oops! how did that post appear here?!?! will copy it to the appropriate entry... you can erase these two if you'd like Nat.
I'll send you along the link when I've written something for Saturday... can't miss it with that movie having been chosen! :o)
I can't remember where I was reading a comparison between Nicole Kidman and Anne Hathaway...paralleling their strong professional / devastating personal years in the media. Do you think the Folieri scandal is gonna make the media extra supportive of Hathaway?
I can see the press working that angle.
I'm so confused about comments lately?
they seem to be on the wrong posts.
They sure do not make movies like this anymore. Incidentally, it is my personal favourite from 1944.
Some lovely, charming people, 100% dreamers, should gather together in order to save MGM once and for all. What did it happen to the Dream Factory?
I'm sorry. I have a tendency to make everything about Best Actress, even when it's not. But here I actually was replying to the wrong post. Mea culpa.

Hands down the best freaking movie blog on the net.the filmexperience is currently in second place.
She's so blunt about everything especially the state of Black cinema and the critical take on Black films (or shall I say White critical take)
Nathaniel--- coincidentally, I saw MMISL for the first time the very day, December 6, you posted this, the first movie I watched on my new HDTV. Beautiful! I can't wait to start digging through these links!
