"something very intellectual indeed"

This is my favorite scene from SAVAGE GRACE. Julianne Moore is radiant and devastating. I wish her performance would've gathered more attention. Her best performance since 2002's killer one-two punch.

Is this a hint that Julianne Moore will be among your awards' leading ladies?

She's amazing in this wildly fascinating/uneven film.

Brilliant. I loved her so much. I need to rewatch it so she can move up my lineup.

do you think her perf. in Blindness was unfairly overlooked? Or were you not nuts about it either?

Julianne Moore was astounding in this film but god, I hated this movie so much.

Julianne Moore is excellent in Blindness and in Savage Grace.

Consider her among the final 5 for the FB Awards.

Marcelo - Brazil.

hopefully she will get awards traction with The Private Lives of Pippa Lee

she plays a lesbian writer

if only she could also be paralyzed

Alexio, does she also die in the film? And does she have to seriously deglam for the role? If so, then she's got next year's Oscar all sewn up.

This is so weird Nat, I just saw this movie last night for the first time. Moore was fantastic. Nobody spits out the word "cunt" like her. And now she gets to spit it in Spanish! Yay!

FYC Eddie Redmayne for Best Breakthrough Performer. I realize this film may not have done too terribly much for his career (it didn't go much of anywhere), but considering that no one had even heard of him before...

And he does deserve recognition somewhere.

FYC sexpot of the year: That guy who played his first boyfriend.

And of course Juli herself.

And Hugh in Australia.

(this has been a good year for sexiness)

It's unbelievable that Moore gets no awards recognition - neither for this nor for "Blindness". I mean, she absolutely demonstrated last year that she is among the best actresses of the world, finally again after some dissappointments like "Laws of Attraction" or "Trust The Man" or "Next". Both "Savage Grace" and "Blindness" are dramas but Moore shows her great versatility in two totally different roles. One is a exciting, spectacular performance in a big dramatic role, the other is a quiet and subtle, deeply moving, brilliant performance in a compelling film.
I think that "Savage Grace" is a too small film and her "Blindness" performance is too subtle for the award groups, otherwise it's beyond me why she doesn't get any buzz for these roles. The sad thing is, if it goes on like this, she won't be offered any roles any more or some few in bad movies and she will never get her long overdue Oscar. She should work with directors like Mike Nichols or Martin Scorsese or Clint Eastwood or she should reteam with Paul Thomas Anderson and Todd Hayness to get not only good roles but also good projects which will be well-received.
