*shudders at similarity to New Years Resolution*
Nate, you explain the picture when everybody recognizes the person and the film, but you don't do it when it is Carol Kane! You're so unpredictable. :p
PS: I loved Milk. I also loved its music. My mother cried. Then again, she usually does. Sensitive baby. :)

Crazy diet...
Time to go run six miles. Ugh.
my 2009 diet (aka "lifestyle" per oprah) is going fine - so far.
OK...here we go
2000 - deserving old winner Ellen Burstyn loses to hot babe Julia Roberts. Such a travesty.
2008 - deserving old winner Julie Christie loses to hot babe Marion Cottilard
2009 - deserving old winner Meryl Streep loses to brand new blonde/stick thin hot babe Kate Winselt.
I'm sure there are may other oldsters losing to hot babes.
I'm doing the same diet. I have my own red dress and gold shoooees I wanna wear.
Matt --you're a stronger man than I.
Jim -- i know. i'm trying to figure out what's the best thing to do for my RSS feed linkage ;)
jimmy -- yeah, they love their princesses. It was always thus (one should note the gender inequality in the AMPAS ranks. Though the acting branch is roughly 50%/50% that's only one 6th of the membership and in most other branches it's heavily male if it's at all representative of the general filmmaking populace.
edot -- just don't supplement this diet with pills. blue in the morning...
pink in the afternoon
Been watching Requiem For a Dream a lot, eh Nathaniel?
I personally can't stomach more than one viewing. And there has to be a gap of like, years between the viewings.
My brother warned me not to watch Requiem for a Dream. He said it would scar me for life. He walked in while I was half way into it, and I said "this isn't so disturbing."
Then I got to the final sequence.
He was right.
Damn, can anyone name a film where Jared Leto is not beaten up, maimed, or killed?! He's like the Kenny from Southpark of Hollywood. Is it just fun to see a beautiful boy destroyed?
henry -- the boyfriend loves it -- one of his favorite movies -- so it ends up in semi-frequent rotation
