I've always loved this portrait of Faye Dunaway on March 29th 1977, the morning after her Oscar win for Network.
I can't tell what she's eating here (yogurt, cottage cheese, lemons with tea... what is it?). But she looks too tired for masticating anyway. I suspect there was only sipping and nibbling after the brief skimming of headlines.
Which Oscar winner do you wish you could have had breakfast with after their big night?
In case you missed it: my Network respective

Breakfast with Cher after her win for Moonstruck, now THAT would be fun :)
I can only imagine what her staff was like at the time
Jack Nicholson after his One Flew over... win. But I'd like someone else to be there as well. I am scared to be alone with Jack at that time. Too much dark energy.
PS: Where id Adam K? I think I miss him. Is that normal?
It's a toss up between the morning after Maggie Smith won for California Suite or when Diane Barrie didn't win for No Left Turn.
I'm sure both would be a complete blast - but stealing food from the other guests with Diane would be so much fun.
OOhhh Maggie Smith after her win for California Suite (one of my all time faves) is GOOD... But I have to go with Emma Thompson the day after she won her second Oscar for the screenplay of Sense and Sensibility. Because it just doesn't get better than that.
nicole kidman even if everyone would say she's bitchy.
and hopefully kate winslet this year. hehe
Tatum O'Neal after winning for Paper Moon... she would have had the best party supplies!
charlize theron.
we would smoke a lot of pot, drink some beer and make sexual jokes with her oscar.
remy ... isn't it a little bit early in the morning for pot & beer?
leehee ... emma thompson. always 4 a good time
Diane Keaton. "Annie Hall." Good times, surely.
Woody, after any of his Oscar wins, because you know he'd have something to say about it.
Or Welles, after his honorary Oscar.
nathaniel, it's never too early with charlize...
Nicole Kidman in 2003.
Nat, you've probably already seen them, but Dunaway and Beatrice Straight's wins have been uploaded to the Oscars Youtube channel.
For me, it's Judy Holliday.
- Michael Shetina
Breakfast in bed with Javier Bardem sounds good to me.
Marlon Brando the morning after he won for "On The Waterfront"; mmm more delicious than the breakfast.
I was going to say Diane Keaton, but I have to say, I'll stick with Faye on this one. I mean, look at her, you could cut glass with those cheekbones. Plus, it looks like a she's eating a healthy breakfast, which i haven't had in a while. I think that she could still be cool now, alas, she went crazy.
George C. Scott or Michael Moore.
2 options.
Either Cuba Gooding Jr. cause you know nobody has ever been as pumped for anything as he was after winning that Oscar.
Also Brando after the Godfather win. I 100% guarantee that the Sacheen Littlefeather stunt was not serious but just the most asinine joke he could come up with. He was sitting at home watching that telecast laughing his ass of when that happened
After an exhausting night, breakfast with George Chakiris.
Or maybe with John Schlesinger.
Paul... i love the way your mind works!
I'd have killed to have a post-Oscar night breakfast with...
Jane Campion ('94)
Diana Ossana ('06)
Alan Ball ('00)
(and of course- fingers-crossed- Ms. Winslet ('09))
Lizzy Gardiner and Tim Chappel for their Priscilla Oscar win. You know the party would only be getting started and although there may be more glamorous winners to have breaky with, I am sure there would be no one more fun.
Plus I would so have to try on her dress!
Dianne Wiest, second Oscar, quieting my attempts at conversation with a finger to my lips. Then we go to the powder room together, because you know she has to relieve the Oscar stress somehow...
Kidman in 2003. Only because I've read interviews on how lonely she was the night of/day after winning the Oscar.
Liza
Thanks for making my day, Nathaniel. ;-)
(I almost wrote: "Breakfast with the 41-year-old John Ford, after his first win for The Informer, with Maureen O'Hara secretly observing and taking notes.")
Three 6 Mafia
and hopefully Heath Ledger
Breakfast in bed with Marlon Brando after On the Waterfront... definitely. And it sure would be nice to do the same when Johnny Depp and Robert Downey Jr. take home their first Oscars. Mmmm... nice group.
