Three pancakes. There's even milk and syrup on the table so it's quite a production this morning.
The Eddy household has undoubtedly seen mornings without breakfasts as fine as this. Mere nights ago Ray served her two boys a bowl of popcorn as dinner.
Now that Frozen River is out on DVD will you finally see Melissa Leo's justly lauded work? And if you have already, are you rooting for her to upset the household names and take that statue for Best Actress?

I saw this last night on DVD. I was underwhelmed, maybe I was expecting to be blown away by the performance.
Leo was excellent, very good, subtle work. However I thought Misty Upham has not matched Leo, so their scenes together were a bit lackluster.
Rented it yesterday -- watching this weekend. Really looking forward.
For me, she's so comfortably the best of the nominees that it's a bit of a (very cruel) joke she's not even being mentioned as a contender.
(Don't worry, Nat, Anne Hathaway would be my runner-up from this lot. Put that pitchfork down!)
With everyone talking about how "overdue" Kate Winslet and Meryl Streep are, my dream scenario would be for Leo to take the Oscar as a makeup award for not ever claiming so much as a nomination anywhere for five seasons of kickass work in "Homicide: Life on the Street." Now THAT's injustice.
As much as I thought Leo was brilliant, I still want Kate to win. But I also want to see more from Leo in the future. I can't believe it is the first movie I see with her in.
Leo would have my vote!
I saw it last night. Good, but not great.
i liked leo but was not blown away either, but she was v good, better than jolie and streep anyway.
i just have issues winning best actress for the reader when she deserved lots of times before, she will win for this then do better work and be just nommed,i hate this year because her closest competition streep is giving one of her worst performances in years.
Color me blown away. I agree with Guy--in my book the best of the five without question. So it saddens me that we already know she has no chance.
I love Leo, but I want Winslet to prevail. I would rather see Richard Jenkins win Best Actor! But both Leo and Jenkins are terrific in my book.

I saw Frozen River last weekend and I tought she was amazing and deserved to win. Then, right after, I saw Rachel Getting Married and I'm 100% on Anne Hathaway bandwagon. Go Annie.
I definitely am gonna rent this one, am trying to see all the nominees this year. Leo has stuck out in my head since "21 Grams", her face, after Benicio comes home, sticks to memory. Random thought: I miss Clea DuVall.
VS it's like an embarrassment of riches all of a sudden, huh?
I thought she was amazing and the movie is one of the best of 2008. now that is an original script :)
Yeah, I am actually kinda hoping she does win. I haven't seen Anne or Kate or Angie - Rachel only came out today, Changeling last week and The Reader next week - but I'd love Melissa to win just for the sheer "wow!" moment it would have.
And then, of course, there's the matter of Frozen River being my favourite film of the year, so...
Sally Hawkins is better than any of these five Oscar nominees. Meh.
I know it happens all the time, but I certainly don't want Winslet to win for an okay performance in her worst film (and one of the worst films ever made, period).
Leo's my favorite of the nominees, with Hathaway a distant second. My review of Frozen River is here.
