Whooohooo! My favorite part from my favorite movie. What a way to start my weekend!

Her clenched smile through that first line is hilarious. It's not her most rangey number in the movie, but it lets Babs flaunt herself at her most vaudevillian, so it's my favourite among them all ("My Man" comes second, but I think Liza Minelli's got that beat for "dazzlingly belted finale amid a black backdrop").

cal... don't knock it til you've tried it.

Babs is S-E-N-S-A-T-I-O-N-A-L in this movie. Too bad she got self important by the 80s and stopped doing musical comedy. She was the best at it.

Believe it or not, I do like her in The Way we Were, but that be because the whole movie is so great that even her can't ruin it. I've seen some of her 60's material but the way she scream-sing is a little bit annoying... But, you know, Wall-e can't be wrong.

Anyway, I have to confess I hate her based mainly on the atrocious Prince of Tides, in which she nails the muscles os Nick Nolte every 5 minutes. Awful.

But I have to give you Babs is good for Oscars. She handed THE CLINT two of his awards.

I inspired a blog entry. Nice!

She really is amazing though, isn't she? Whenever I mention how great she is (I'd rank her right up there in the top three best actress winners, of those that I have seen obvs) and people just look at me strange as if "oh, it's the homo in you" but inevitably those people have not seen Funny Girl and that should be rectified immediately.

I really love Babs the actress. Not so much the singer (outside of songs from movies and some of her '80s stuff).

I need a little ooh, little ah, little oh
and I'm knocking on wood
Oh baby hurry up hurry up hurry up
it's so hard to be good

This simple little song is a total gem in Funny Girl (look it up on you tube)

It's one of Fanny Bryce's original songs, and it wasn't in the broadway show.

Don't compare Liza and Barbara!

Last time someone had to choose between goddesses, it started the trojan war! Please, love them both, love them both!
