Cannes only clarified to me one thing: Cruz has a good chance of a Lead Actress nom. On the rest, it certainly killed off chances - at first glance - for Taking Woodstock, Tetro, Inglorious Bastards, etc. The only movie that confirmed it WILL be on several Oscar cathegories is - what a surprise - Pixar's Up. On my book noted down for Original Screenplay, Animated Feature noms... at least.
Tidbit about Cannes. Apparently la Huppert went diva and refused to let Isabelle Adjani present the Palme d'Or. Loves the bitchiness ... !!!
