Can you name the movie?
Of course you can it's... [highlight for answer]: Francis Ford Coppola's Peggy Sue Got Married (1986) with Oscar nominated cinematography by Jordan Cronenweth. The movie that should have won Kathleen Turner the Oscar!

Peggy Sue Got Married
Yep. It's peggy sue.
now she's wearing a band of gold.
She got married not long ago.
anon 7:42 and yes TURNER WAS ROBBED.
yes, one of my biggest oscar disappointments. i get choked up everytime she gets that first phone call from her grandmother....and the fight scene in the basement. marly matlin....augh.
That Kathleen Turner is the only person in the last shot that doesnt have an Oscar is wrong in so many way.
victor s omg... i didn't think of it that way. Thanks for ruining my morning! (ha ha. i kid. but seriously. it is W-R-O-N-G)
Comment of the Day!!!!
and I forgot an "s" in ways.
Damn, how early in the morning do you have to wake up to get in on the game. I knew this was PGGY SUE too, but i was still sleeping at 8:30!
keep them coming though!
well that's why i never reveal the answer in the post itself. You can still guess many days later if you miss a day -- but only you will know whether or not you actually knew it or cheated by looking in the comments for the answer ;)
I'm perplexed at myself with this contest. First I can't recognize the movie. Then when the answer is revealed I've never even heard of it. Now the first one I get right I've never even seen before.
Huh. My first thought was Terms of Endearment... and I wasn't 100% behind that guess.
I actually prefer Marlee Matlin in "Children of a Lesser God" but I am a huge fan of Kathleen's (bought "Send Yourself Roses" to prove it). I think her performances in "Romancing the Stone," "Body Heat," and "Prizzi's Honor" are better than this one but she should have at least two Oscars...just not for this.
i think she should have two as well.
1981 and 1984.
1986 i'm torn between Turner & Weaver currently so i should rewatch.
Wins for 81 and 86
noms...
84
85
89
94
99
and if supporting actress 88 wasnt so fucking good, she'd be in there too
Is that 89 nom for "War of the Roses"? Wow, I completely forgot about that.
And I'm going to assume the 99 one is for "The Virgin Suicides" and NOT "Baby Geniuses" :)
