and Nick, unbearable seems to be the word. Rented it for "streep at 60" and just looking at the opening frame and the closing voiceover i was like OMG THIS MOVIE SEEMS HORRIBLE.

No. It is completely unbearable.
Unbearable. Even Meryl hates it. She called it "a weird, airless thing" in EW a few years ago. She was spot-on, except that she forgot to add that it is also horrendous.
I've never heard of 'Before and After'.
it's a meryl streep / liam neeson drama from the 90s.
The first thing I thought of was The Sweet Hereafter. I don't think I even know what this Before and After movie is!
