Best Description of an Actress Ever.
Last night at dinner, The Boyfriend was all excited to tell me about his latest celebrity sighting. He never knows their names just that they're famous so it's always a guessing game. 'Oh you know who... she's got blonde hair'. Uh, thanks. That really narrows it down, babe. 'Squishy face.' Hmmm...'I think she made a movie about dancing once?' Hahaha. Then it became so obvious and I shouted out her name. He was talking about __________.

Renee Zellweger...? I'm basing that on the 'squishy face' comment.
no. i almost went there on the second clue but 'squinty eyes' was a more common description.
marilyn monroe
What's her face from 10 Things I Hate About You...
JULIA STYLES! Thank you imdb. :p Squishy face, blonde hair and she did Save The Last Dance. And I have no idea why I know that last fact...
Nathaniel, why don't you have money to open your page??? How expensive it is??? I can't believe HOW SUCCESSFUL YOUR WEBSITE is, and then you close it.
The idea of Nathaniel's boyfriend running into Mariliyn Monroe sounds like the perfect pitch for a Spike Jonze-Charlie Kaufman collaboration.
yep, Julia Styles.
linda tis Julia Stiles, indeed.
of course my horse is dead because i don't have money that's why. It'll reopen on April 1st. T'was the last podcast (combined with typical Oscar spiking) that killed it. So i can't upload them to iTunes anymore until i figure out why it pulled such a gargantuan amount of my monthly bandwidth allowance in one single day before i took it down.
mom and badmotherfucker it's not a horror film. no dead people were involved.
i am a struggling writer in NYC. writing doesn't pay well. the site has never made a profit. It's a labor of love.
I think you should try to hire some guy to sell the ads for you, these FYC material we see at Hollywood Elsewhere and MCN and In Contention. I'm sure the moment you leave Blogger and make TFE look more professional you'll be rich.
EVERYBODY READS YOU!
I love the look of your blog, but it should be more business-friendly, I think. I don't know if Kris or Jeff Wells have a sells staff, but you should try. Or try to sell for yourself.
You are so popular that I can't imagine how much you're losing for not selling well your product.
Don't let the basterds (who are obviously oblivious to economic realities) grind you down! Your passion is a blessing to your readers. Keep up the *great* work!
I didn't know her name either. And I always confused with Kirsten Dunst.
P.S. Don't even know if I'd recognize Julia Stiles anymore. It's been so-o-o long since she's been in anything notable. (The Omen? Mona Lisa Smiles, for God's sake?!)
Cal...unfortunately i have never had anything like enough income to hire people to work for me (like a sales staff) and i don't come from wealth.
i'll keep plugging along and hopefully i'll figure out a business model that works but i think people can handle it if my site is down for two weeks once in awhile.
now if only i could find the time to take a few months off and go to business school or something ;)
It's not really "hiring". Find some rookie with lots of ambition and no opportunities yet and tell him: sell these ads and I give you 25%. No salary, no "hiring".
Or try to find out what other bloggers are doing to handle it. I'm sure they would help you.
I'll come to NY and sell ads for you -- if you'll sponsor my work visa. I want to move to the states SO MUCH! But, wow, those work visas are hard to get these days. Even for us Brits.
Blame Damn (or should that be Dame) Obama and his protectionist policies.
I miss Stiles being in major films. The last few she's done have been small indie releases (2009's "Gospel Hill" and 2010's "The Cry of the Owl"). I wonder why she's not getting casted for leading roles anymore. Is it because of "The Prince & Me"?
