Dear Baz,
I fell madly in love with Strictly Ballroom. Romeo + Juliet made my eyes bug out and my heart leap. Moulin Rouge! completed me. I even liked Australia!
My point is this: Please step away from the boys and party venues and make a movie. It takes you for-e-ver. NO TIME TO WASTE.
Love
Or should I say...
Your impatient mega fan, Nathaniel

I'm gonna say it...Australia (even though it's not even 2 years old) has held up well and it's gotten better on rewatches.
Hmm...Same, Michael.
But is it just me or is Baz smoking hot!?
it's not just you.
I agree with you all that Australia has held up pretty well (the last 45 minutes still are a mess, Baz should have ended the movie right before the bombing) and I think the reason that it gets better on rewatches is beacause it wasn't as bad as everyone painted it in the first place.
I also think that "Nine" is going to have the same fate. Everyone was so harsh on "Nine" that when all the dust settles people will realize it wasn't that bad.
What a body! I guess he had to choose between movies and gym.
When the hell is he going to get to work on The Great Gatsby? Was that just a rumor?
I'm still expecting he to continue his Alexander the Great project with Nicole Kidman as Olympia and Leonardo DiCaprio as Alexander. I mean with the collaboration with Valerio Massimo Manfredi, this could easily be an epic mega project. I still cursed Oliver Stone every time I see his version of Alexander.
Is he gay? And for that matter is Marc Forster? They could both direct me anytime.
Baz is married to Catherine Martin (costume designer on his movies). I have no idea what Marc Forster is on about
This picture is SO Gay! No problem with that by the way
Isn't Baz married to Catherine Martin? Is he gay/bi too, or is this something everyone knows about except me?
It may very well be that "Australia" ages well but personally I have no desire to see it again. Once on the big screen was quite enough, thank you.
Baz has a very good taste for chosing his male party friends(???), and he is also smoking hot. Baz use this good taste and start making a movie NOW, and with pretty clothes made by Catherine Martin.
This is how I feel about Alexander Payne. Sideways was nearly six years ago! PT Anderson doesn't take this long.
but... uh, look at the pretty boys!
Clearly I'm going to all the wrong Sydney parties...
Hey everyone, I'm the owner of a Baz Luhrmann fansite called 'Baz the Great!'
http://www.bazthegreatsite.com
I created this fansite back in 2002 after falling in love with 'Moulin Rouge', and I have closely followed all his productions ever since.
I followed the entire pre-production of 'Alexander the Great', and I was extremely disappointed that Stone bet him to it (Baz definitely would have done it better). I also followed the entire journey of 'Australia' - from its very conception through to the stupidly-rushed DVD release. And, by the way, 'Australia' would have been a lot better if Fox didn't stuff everything up and insist on a 'happy' ending! (In the original script, the Drover dies, and everything makes more sense).
Now I'm eagerly waiting for Baz to announce his next project. 'The Great Gatsby' is only one possibility. He did buy the book rights some time ago, but Baz still has not made any announcement of what his next film will be. Hopefully, we will find out more this year!
PS - And yes, I also agree that Baz is smoking hot! ;)
