fear and loathing in las vegas?
hmmm. i can see where you'd get that. but it's incorrect. have i finally found a stumper for y'all. it's been over an hour.
pulp fiction?
american beauty?
Rain Man?
Limits of Control?
(it's the coffee)
wow. nobody has got it yet.
both images actually do relate to the plot. The ending is TOTALLY terrible. the coffee is being removed from the table and the characters are laughing.
This is Spinal Tap?
Blood Simple?
No.
another clue: this edition was inspired by the winners of the last Oscar ceremony.
Misery?
It's The Vanishing.
Misery!
Oh, The Vanishing (American version)! Because of the coffee? Good guess! I can't get how it would be tied to the last Oscar ceremony though.
Just figured out that Sandra Bullock would be the connection. I am slow.
Christine -- BULLOCK & BRIDGES!
Paul is correct. It's The Vanishing. How stupid is that ending? A cleansing giggle to end something horrific? Ewww.
I suspect that this F&L is also meant to be a commentary on the Let the Right One In remake. Say, for example, how Hollywood remakes of foreign films tend to take out the riskier themes and plot points that made the original films awesome?
don't even get me started!
what is the point of remaking a movie as good as that one?
On that same thought - "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" is apparently already destined for an American version, according to several critics. They are also universally of the opinion that an American version would be lousy, and I am forced to agree. Folks, get over the subtitles and see the original instead of waiting for the watered-down local product.
The American versions of the "Millennium"-films were actually announced this week. I wasn't very thrilled with the Swedish films, so the American ones might just be better. Wasn't too big a fan of Let The Right One In either, actually. But the American Vanishing is indeed inferior to the dutch one.
That's from The Vanishing? God, I hated that movie.
Ah, too late, but yeah, I guessed The Vanishing - it was the coffee and the cheesy last scene that twigged it for me. :P
