Alexa here. Jose's post on all the Oz films in the works reminded me of my art school days, where seemingly everyone felt the need to made something Ozian. So I was curious to see the latest creations from Oz by artists and crafters on the web.
Artists will never tire of Dorothy's technicolor ruby slippers. (Did you know that in Baum's book they were silver?) On top are modern yellow brick road images from Courtney Krishnamurthy and Boopsie Daisy; the tornado dream on the bottom is by Jaycee.
If you want your own pair of rubies, you can buy them in practically any size over at Princess Pumps.
Something to wear close to your heart: a tin man charm necklace from the mix shop.
Finally, as part of my ongoing quest for finger puppets, I have to mention this Oz set from Pintassilgo Prints. They're magnetic! Literally.

And did you know the largest Ozfest is held every September in Chesterton, Indiana? One year they had over 40,000 people show up. The surviving munchkins always made it a point to attend, too. Here is their website:

Was anyone else ever amused by the fact that Dorothy wore heels with ankle socks? I get that it was probably easier on Judy Garland's feet, but if you really look at it, it's kind of funny.
if they had sold those ruby slippers back when i was in college i swear to god i would have bought some in my size. #justsaying.
alexa -- i think it's hilarious that you are so compelled to collect finger puppets... or visuals thereof at least.
liz -- well, she did have to do a lot of walking.
craig -- i would so love to go to that!
Those puppets are so cute! The wizard one even looks like RDJ a bit.
I admit it, i do have ruby slippers!
