Believe it or not, I'm seeing Sin Nombre. Yes, they waited until now to bring it to Greece.

Probably stay home and watch "The Messenger" from Netflix.

Hilary_Swank said...

Mother and Child.

There are possibilities involving Woodstock & Men Who Stare at Goats & Victor/Victoria at home, and Iron Man 2 in the theater.

Rebecca said...

I'm going to see 'I am Love' at Seattle Film Festival.

Henry said...

Um, Iron Man 2? Check. Robin Hood? Check. Shrek Forever After? No thanks. Anything else out there worth seeing?

I plan to finish off Doctor Zhivago, watch Sergeant York and, if my parents want to, it'll be a glimpse of Iron Man 2. (Really waiting for The Kids Are Alright, Inception or Scott Pilgrim. But, since I can't drive, I'm at the elders whims. And that means I can only really be excited about Inception.) :| Still, that really is the one movie for the theatre this summer.

Probably seeing MacGruber with friends for the dumb laughs (and the not-so-dumb awesomeness of Kristen Wiig), and then finally getting around to seeing Anton Corbijn's "Control."

This weekend, Henry? Unless you want a definitely dumb and possibly sexist SNL skit adaptation it'd be best to wait at least a week.

Io sono l'amore. Oh Tilda!

Rewatching An Education. I like to rewatch the Oscar nominees when they come out on DVD, and iTunes finally made it available for rent.

Odds of me going to a theater this weekend: 1000-1.
Shrek 4? No thanks.

Macgruber? No.

Holy Rollers? Maria Full of Grace with Jews and (reportably) bad acting. I'll stick with Columbians and Moreno's knockout performance, thanks.

Also, Holy Rollers doesn't even go into the cult of Hasidic Jews who took a shitload of acid to "talk to God."

(QUIZ: The book I got this tidbit from is being made into a movie that was part of Nate's We Can't Wait Series. What's the name of the book/movie?)

I'm going to try and watch Dogville this weekend for the first time and hopefully, Iron Man 2 too. :P

A mini-Disney marathon leading to a crack of dawn flight on Monday to the happiest place on earth. I'm going to ride the Haunted Mansion, then Pirates of the Carribean, then the Winnie the Pooh ride, then the Haunted Mansion, then Pirates...until I'm flying back on Thursday. Yes, I'm a little obsessed with those three rides. I will not, however, be watching Pirates of the Caribbean or The Haunted Mansion. The Wonderful World of Winnie the Pooh is a possibility.

Nightmare on Elm Street with my (hopefully) soon-to-be boyfriend... I don't know why I'm attracted to horror-loving guys...

Either suffering through Iron Man 2, Macgruber, or something good *crosses fingers* at my local indie theater! Come on Mother and Child!

I, like Rebecca, will be at the Seattle Film Festival and will also try and catch I Am Love. Missed it at the Portland Film Festival but some Tilda time will be mine!

Tonight I will watch The Passion Of Joan of Arc which I just got from Netflix.

Special screening this evening of MacGruber. (What? Nobody knows! Nobody knows, none the wiser.)

Patiently waiting for SATC 2 and Inception

This is off the subject, but...

Are you watching Julianne Moore on 30 Rock tonight?

I'm guessing your answer is... Yes!

Daniel Armour said...

If anything, MacGruber, but I'm too focused on seeing The Series Finale of Lost to worry about any movies this weekend!

Please Give, probably not over the weekend - but Monday. Very excited to be back to my favorite local independent theater. Haven't been there since 'A Single Man'... out with the '09 season and into the '10.

Watching Nine for the first time :)

i just came out of "exit through the gift shop" and let me tell you, i LOVED it.
it's very dynamic and very very funny, besides, lots of banksy, shepard fairey and other artists' street art. interesting to see.

Hate the Love Ranch trailer for telling us WAY TOO MUCH.

Duck, You Sucker , Fitzcarraldo, and the Lost finale.

Melanie -- the crazy thing is that my DVR which is usually totally dependable DID NOT RECORD the finale of 30Rock.

so i'm hoping it's online soon. it's fun to see her on that show

Mason -- let us know what you think. Nine, Guido, Nine... Nine months of the year... (oh wait. damn. that song is still not in the movie)

Pomme & Ferdi -- jealous of you for seeing Copie Conforme. Me want. NOW.

Hilary Swank -- you are hilarious. OF COURSE that's what you'd be seeing you Oscar thieving so & so

I'm expecting Gentlemen Prefer Blondes tomorrow night.

I'll probably watch West Side Story (watched half two weeks ago, then my wife got bored).

In preparation for our move (into YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD Nathaniel), we are going to buy a big ass flatscreen, multiregion DVD player, with maxed out surround sound stuff. (Fuck you cineplex!) So if I can't restrain myself to wait a few weeks until we move, I may be test driving something luscious from the DVD trove.

verninino said...

OtherRobert: Definitely queue up the Pooh.

I've watched it at least a hundred times in recent years as my 1-year-old transformed into a 3-year-old. Indeed, I'm starting over again with my new 1-year-old.

It never gets old.

NATHANIEL R said...

verninino -- HOLD OUT. you don't wanna move with that big ass flatscreen. just come over and watch mine if you get a jonesing for big screen.

I also saw Nine recently. Sorry Nathaniel, I didn't like it much - felt too much like a long messy advertisement - even the technical aspects didn't excite.

This weekend I have some Jarman and Truffaut - lovely stuff:)

What's in a week? The Sex and the City sequel? Oy. And no, I have absolutely zero interest in seeing MacGruber (why they would want to ruin MacGuyver, which was a staple of my childhood, by spoofing/satirizing it is beyond me) and I've already crossed off Shrek so I guess I'm waiting until mid-July to see Inception.

Henry said...

Oh, what's at home from Netflix? I've got 2012 (a request from my mother, strangely enough) and The Box along with the last disc of Season Four from The Wire. Oh, and the series finale of Lost (along with the retrospective before it and Jimmy Kimmel's "Aloha to Lost" program a half hour later).
