Emmy Nominations Are Here: Gleek Fever and Friday Night Lights Breakthrough

Starting now. The beautiful Sofia Vergara from Modern Family will be announcing. How great is she on that show as the "coal digger" Gloria? How many film stars will be nominated for small screen work, today? We shall see.

Drama

Series Breaking Bad | Dexter | The Good Wife | Lost | Mad Men | True Blood
  • Trivia note: True Blood is the only nominated series (in either drama or comedy) without acting nominations. Who do you think is most deserving from that show?
Lead Actress January Jones, Mad Men | Connie Britton, Friday Night Lights | Kyra Sedgwick, The Closer | Glenn Close, Damages | Juliana Marguiles, The Good Wife | Mariska Hargitay, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Lead Actor Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad | Michael C Hall, Dexter | Kyle Chandler, Friday Night Lights | Hugh Laurie, House | Matthew Fox, Lost | Jon Hamm, Mad Men
  • Dream come true: Friday Night Lights finally got lead acting nominations. Never mind that they've deserved them for years and that neither Britton nor Chandler ever coast like some Emmy regulars seem to. This is great news.
Supporting Actress Sharon Gless, Burn Notice | Rose Byrne, Damages | Archie Panjabi, The Good Wife | Christine Baranski, The Good Wife | Christina Hendricks, Mad Men | Elisabeth Moss, Mad Men

Supporting Actor Aaron Paul, Breaking Bad | Martin Short, Damages | Terry O'Quinn, Lost | Michael Emerson, Lost | John Slattery, Mad Men | Andre Braugher, Men of a Certain Age
  • I am beyond happy that the Mad Men Holy (Female) Trinity all made it in because they are all so different and so deserving. I'm happy to see Archie Panjabi's name (I don't like the show but I think she's a fine actress) and I'm still chuckling that Rose Byrne is a "supporting" actress in Damages' PATTY VS. ELLEN duet each year. It is, as they say, to laugh. Shouldn't this then be in the comedy category?

Comedy

Series Curb Your Enthusiasm | Glee | Modern Family | Nurse Jackie | The Office | 30 Rock
  • Trivia Note: Glee is the Emmy series leader with 19 nominations (including one for my beloved Kristin Chenoweth as "April"). Mad Men trails with 17.

Lead Actress Lea Michelle, Glee | Julia Dreyfuss, The New Adventures of Old Christine | Edie Falco, Nurse Jackie | Amy Poehler, Parks and Recreations | Tina Fey, 30 Rock | Toni Collette, The United States of Tara

Lead Actor Jim Parsons, Big Bang Theory | Larry David, Curb Your Enthusiasm | Matthew Morrison, Glee | Tony Shalhoub, Monk | Steve Carrell, The Office | Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock
  • The usual suspects with only Glee power duo really breaking up the standard fields. (Note the absence of Courtney Cox for Cougar Town and the new snubs for Ugly Betty and Weeds) A lot of Big Bang Theory fans (I know a few but I haven't seen the series) are probably excited this morning as this wasn't a sure thing, correct?
Supporting Actress Julia Bowen, Modern Family | Sofia Vergara, Modern Family | Jane Lynch, Glee | Kristen Wiig, Saturday Night Live | Jane Krakowski, 30 Rock | Holland Taylor, Two and a Half Men

Burrel & Bowen = the best acted married couple on television?
(Now that the Mr & Mrs Don Draper have split)

Supporting Actor Chris Colfer, Glee | Neil Patrick Harris, How I Met Your Mother | Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Modern Family | Eric Stonestreet, Modern Family | Ty Burrell, Modern Family | Jon Cryer, Two and a Half Men
  • Great day for Modern Family, easily the best sitcom on network television (that I've seen). The supporting actor comedy category is also a big win for Team Gay with three gay characters nominated and even totally out actors in the mix and not all of them in gay roles. I guess this means they all split the votes and Jon Cryer wins againzzzzz. As for the women I suspect Jane Lynch has it in the bag but allow me to shed a tear, or a drop of blood rather for Krakowski who had that incredible "rage stroke" on 30Rock this year. She's so genius funny.
Other Items of Interest

Blurring the lines: Oscar winners Maggie Smith, Kathy Bates, Susan Sarandon, Judi Dench, Al Pacino, Sissy Spacek and Shirley Jones (just discussed from Elmer Gantry) were all Emmy nominated in miniseries, guest or telefilm categories. Other big screen regulars like Joan Allen, Claire Danes, Michael Sheen and Dennis Quaid were all nominated in miniseries, guest or telefilm categories. Are any of them working their way to a "triple crown"? Pacino already has one, doesn't he? Anyone else?
Overkill!: Big category nominees like NPH, Jon Hamm, Jane Lynch, Tina Fey and Christine Baranski were also nominated in "guest actor" categories which means when they like you... they really really... oh never mind. The Emmys are always such a snoozzze.

Martyrdom Award: Taking one for a great series! Zach Gilford's incredible performance in the Friday Night Lights episode "The Son", (previously discussed) the one that arguably got the series sudden new Emmy attention was not nominated. The episode however did score in the Writing category.

Full List of Nominees?
Most sites don't cover all 1,231 categories even when they say they do, so you'll have to download it from the Emmy site. It's only there where I discovered the undiscussed Anne Hathaway thing and that Mad Men, The Tudors and Glee are competing for Best Costume Design... with The Good Wife and 30 Rock. Hmmm. Glee's nomination is from the Madonna episode. I want Mad Men to win. The nomination comes from that amazing episode "Souvenir" where January Jones gets all dolled up in Italy. YUM.

The Lead Drama Nominations are AMAZING.

Sad Cox didn't get in but the inclusion of Matthew Fox literally saves the day.

HOLY CRAP! Amazing nominees!

Christina Hendricks and Elizabeth Moss both as supporting actress for "Mad Men," along with January Jones as lead actress.

They just made me the happiest man in the world this morning.

Parks and Recreation deserved so much more. I mean, The Office? Over Ron effing Swanson?

I'm surprised at how happy I am with the nominees. The Comedy Supporting nominees are brilliant across the board, and the drama ones aren't too bad either. I had a feeling they might go overboard with Glee, but I'm not at all peeved (Chris Colfer! Mike O'Malley! And lots of nice little surprises too, like Elizabeth Mitchell. Good job, Emmys!

Julia said...

And you forgot Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates, Julia Ormond, Catherine O'Hara, Sissy Spacek and Ann-Margret as film actors also nominated...

BTW, what's your take on The Good Wife?

Ivonne said...

I hoped for both Terry O'Quinn and Michael Emerson; and in addition all the nominations for modern family cast make me very happy

Michael said...

The intense love for 'Glee' is making me kind of ill. The only thing that would make me feel better is Matthew Fox for 'Lost.'

..Wait? That actually happened!? Awesome!

(Btw, Kristin Chenoweth nominated for 'Glee' but not Idina Menzel! Diva/Broadway goddess fight!)

Michael said...

In addition to my last post...

No Cox or Kudrow! Damn.

That is all.

JD said...

So happy for Modern Family :)
Nathaniel, Julie Bowen is nominated too in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category along with Sofia Vergara

Michael B. said...

Neither Lisa Kudrow or Shelley Long submitted themselves for Guest Actress in a comedy Series. That's why they didn't get the nominations they deserved.

I'm pretty sure that Long would have taken home the statue too. Great performance.

Oh my effing GOD what a bore....Aren't the voters artists, entertainers, people in the industry? Weren't they supposed to be creative, interested in diferent things and have an open mind?

Why do they keep voting for the same people over and over and over again?

Glad for True Blood, though the cast deserved some attention as well- I would have nominated Nelson Ellis and Debora Ann Forgot her last name, the redhead knockout who plays Jessica.

Speaking as a Big Bang Theory fan, I'm beyond thrilled with Jim Parson's more than deserved nomination, but I would have voted for the show itself, as well. It deserves to be nominated- it is witty, satirical, ironic, self-depricating, sweet, and very, very, very funny.

aclp said...

I dont get the love for Glee at all...Ok, the songs are okay, but the show itself......I'm sorry, bt I think is lame-and boring.

The stories are silly and obvious, the writing is bad, its too well-behaved, too middle class, too hallmark, the stories arent well developed, the writing is a bit too naive, everything is a bit obvious...and above all, I find it quite boring. Dont get everyone's obsession with it at all.

aclp said...

Speaking as a long time die hard Lost fan, everything there went downhill after the fifth season. The first two were pure brilliancy, the third was very good, the fourth started out as a mess but then it got better, and the sixth was plain disrespectful to the audience- especially to those who had been faithfully watching since 2004.

The last episode was nauseating. Ridiculous. Lame. Horrendous. Plain bad. The writes really did take the fans for fools.

That said, Terry O'Quinn should have it on the bag. He is a genious. Playing two characters at once, on three different "time lines/ alternate realities/Earth and Heaven" the way he did, with so many layers and depht and consistency, it was a masterclass.

Matthew Fox was really good as well, even though his characters was annoying as hell and his storyline was quite poor this last season.

So many nominations literally made me go WTF or Holy Sh*t!! This is probably the best surprise I've had in a while. I LOVE AS IN ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE CHRIS COLFER NOMINATION!!! That "Rose's Turn," I mean "Kurt's Turn" made me give him a standing ovation from across the TV screen.

CHRISTINA HENDRICKS YAY YAY YAY TIME TO SUBMIT THE VASE EPISODE :D

and regarding your Big Bang Theory comment, no Jim Parsons was more than expected to get a nomination. In fact, many of the Emmy pundits are expecting him to win.

The only thing that makes me sad is the fact that Lauren Graham isn't in there ;( I love her so much. But Friday Night Lights getting in makes up the terrible losses and the stupid nominations (hello Holland Taylor and Jon Cryer) Sigh. They could have given those nominations to other funnier people.

Unknown said...

I'm (only somewhat) surprised that you've expressed a dislike for "The Good Wife," Nate, which most people seem to love for some reason. I was initially intrigued by the concept myself until I realized that CBS was content to make it another procedural. Such a waste. I assume that everyone is so glad that an actress over forty is headlining a hit major-network show that they're willing to overlook it's flaws. Still love the actresses involved, though.

Namaste said...

I knew you would be excited about the love for Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler. ;)

PJ, since you mention Elizabeth Mitchell, I also think it's a nice surprice to see her nominated. Even though I probably wouldn't have nominated her this year (she was on-screen for like 5 minutes this season), she very much deserved a nomination as supporting actress for both season 3 and season 5 of Lost. Therefore, I'm very happy to see her name this time. :) It even eases the pain I'm feeling because of yesterday's football/soccer match.^^
Also happy about Matthew Fox.

Sad about the John Noble snub. But well, we know the Emmys voters are not into sci-fi... *sigh*

John said...

Maggie Smith has the Triple Crown already, methinks. (Oscar: "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie," "California Suite," Tony: "Lettice and Lovage"). She won for "My House in Umbria," I think.

AND Judi Dench (Oscar: "Shakespeare in Love," Tony: "Amy's View") could clinch the Triple Crown, but won't. Danes is winning.

So close! I wonder if Dench has actually been trying to win that damned Emmy.

MOVIEMAD said...

even Jeff Bridges got his first nomination!

NATHANIEL R said...

@JULIA -- i only watched one or two episodes of The Good Wife and didn't like it at all. Thought it was straining awfully hard for effect and in really obvious ways. But people keep saying it's good so...

@AMANDA -- i'm not totally 100% behind the True Blood performances (even though i love the show) as "best" but I do think whatshername (i don't know her name either) is pretty great as "Jessica"

@JOHN -- i typed up a list of all triple crowners awhile back. i'll dig it up.

aclp said...

Count me in as another one who is really happy and gladly surprised to see the lovely Elizabeth Mitchell nominated.

Never seen the Good Wife, but Cristine Baranski is nominated for TBBT and deservingly so- she is hilarious as Leonard's mom.

aclp said...

Nathaniel, I do agree that the best think about True Blood is its metaphorical, layered, inteligent, brave, satirical, ironic, witty, engaging, provocative and subtly political writing and the show's braveness in dealing with taboos and approaching some of contemporary societies' most complicated wounds, bt I really like "lafayette" and "jessica" as actors.

Anonymous said...

Just wanted to remind that as far as awards go the biggest !! is Judi Dench, if she wins she will have the next triple crown (Oscar,Tony,Emmy) GO DAME JUDI!

Kim said...

I am shockingly happy with the Nominations. Re: Supporting Actor in a Comedy, if the Modern Family guys spilt their vote, I am certainly hoping it goes to NPH (who will certainly submit the HIMYM episode with his hilarious musical ode to suits). If Jon Cryer wins again, I will throw things at my TV. Chris Colfer could be a dark horse though, providing he submits the right episode...

NATHANIEL R said...

Kim -- but if NPH was going to win, wouldn't he have done it by now. i have this theory that they don't like to give prizes to the out guys since most of Hollywood still believes in the closet. and the out guys shame them.

Lara said...

I don't watch that much US television, but from what I've seen I like most of the nominations.
Agree Nathaniel, that the Good Wife has its problems, but it's still a good show. For me, Christine Baranski is best in show, even before Archie Panjabi. The acting I like the least comes strangely enough from The Good Wife herself, Julianna Margulies. I don't know if it's the character or her acting, but it's dull. Oh, I forgot Alan Cumming, he's a delight and should've got a nod for Supporting.

Tried to watch Cougar Town, but I found it boring.

As for Glee, I really like the show, but the nominations here leave me cold. Even Lynch's and Colfer's. And I cheered when they won all the awards back in January./ February. What a second half season can do...

Yay for Modern Family, but crickey for the lovely Sofia Vergara for messing up so many names! Sweet Jesus, even I know how to pronounce Mariska Hargitay's name and I don't even watch her show.

Namaste said...

Since Lara brought up Mariska Hargitay, I said it last year and I say it again - WHY ON EARTH DO THEY KEEP NOMINATING HER???
But I thought it was funny that the woman who announced the nominations couldn't pronounce her name. Especially since she should be familiar with her name if she ever watched the Emmys before.^^

Andrew David said...

Big surprise to see True Blood as a best drama nominee... but it does make sense, since the second season is much better than the first.

Nathaniel, I do agree with you that some of the True Blood cast can be uneven (Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard, Mariana Klaveno and Sam Trammel are the worst offenders, with Paquin and Nelsan Ellis sometimes struggling) but I think the cast as a whole does a much better job than most ensembles on TV. I would kill to see Rutina Wesley and (maybe) Ryan Kwanten nominated in the future... and I just wish Michelle Forbes could have gotten a nomination in either the supporting or guest category.

Saying that, I can see why none of the cast were nominated: the show is structured in such a way that it's hard for the actors to submit a single episode for consideration... there's just not enough in each individual episode, and the so-called "Emmy moments" are spread out.

IslandLiberal said...

Love all the Glee love, though I'm sad for Cory Monteith, who's stuck in a role that really should be considered Lead, but Morrison has that spot. He's arguably the best actor on the show, but I suspect he's going have a tough time getting recognition.

Really glad Colfer made it (after "Theatricality" I've seriously soured on his character, but that's not his fault, and he's a terrific actor).

Guest Actor (Comedy) is an interesting category to consider, since you've got two nominees (Jon Hamm, Neil Patrick Harris) who are very popular, and multi-time nominees in the past in a different category (which they're also nominated in this year). Will some of the voters try to use the Guest Actor Emmy as a consolation prize for one of them?

NATHANIEL R said...

Drew -- good points. I think the best "performances" on the show in terms of consistency (i'm not done with the second season though are Maryann and Jessica and Ryan Kwanten. I'm amazed to say that last part because like everyone else i was just enjoying the beefcake but he is incredibly good at comic dimness. LOVE him in the second season. So many tiny killer moments with just facial expressions.

Lara -- absolutely agree that Glee's second half of first season was less worthy than its first. I really worry about the show understanding why people fell inlove in the first place. It wasn't all the vocoders and the HUGE production numbers. It was the endearing characterizations and the omg, they're totally selling this number despite all the trials in getting there.

I worry that the show is way too popular for its own good to maintain its necessary humility (given that it's about losers or those perceived as losers rather)

NATHANIEL R said...

Namaste -- my god i have no idea. anyone? anyone? please to explain.

Kyle said...

Yay Ty Burrell!! Michael C. Hall and John Lithgow!! I love all three.

Ugh @ January Jones...not a fan...at all.

Kevin P. Durkin said...

Rutina Wesley was robbed!! Hehe, I actually like most of the nominees this year. If "True Blood" deserved one Nominee in acting it definitely should have been Wesley.

Andrew David said...

Nathaniel - I completely agree with you... Kwanten is so strong in the early parts of the second season, he completely sells this confused kind of tragedy while still being the funniest thing about the show.

I didn't realise you were still in the second season... Alfre Woodard has already had a cameo in the third season, hopefully she'll be back!

Missing above are the EGOTs Audrey Hepburn and Helen Hayes (both for spoken record at the Grammys)... There's also Goldberg, though her Tony is for producing...

Streisend and Minelli also have pseudo EGOTs, but their Tony and Grammy, respectively, are special prizes...

Anyone who's watched any episodes of the last two seasons of "SVU" should know that that show is so insanely preposterous now that nothing about it says quality television. It's just dumb, and the acting has gotten hammier and hammier. But it just goes to show you that once certain performers are in it's virtually impossible to get them out.

I think Morrison's and Michele's nods are a joke, as they sometimes provide some of the worst acting moments on "Glee," in my opinion. I would love to root for Colfer, but Ryan Murphy has soured me on Kurt's storyline to the point that I'd rather pretend that most of it never happened. How many episodes of his personal fight for acceptance did we need in a single season? Glad to see Mike O'Malley (Is that his name?) cited as guest actor, though. I think he's done THE best acting in the series thus far.

As someone who was pretty blah about season one of "True Blood," I did find the second season a vast improvement, so I don't mind it's drama series nomination. With a couple exceptions I can't say I'm torn up about the lack of acting nods because the performances can be quite uneven (and am I the only one that finds Sookie and Bill the most boring part of the show?).

Lara said...

Julia, my bad. I completely oversaw that, but I'm absolutely thrilled for him. For some reason I thought he would be in the Supporting Actor category, but he's in Guest (which makes sense).
And I just saw that Glee leads the nominations with a count of 19. Yes, they're definitely too popular for their own good right now. Please, let the second season go back to its roots.

IslandLiberal said...

"I think Morrison's and Michele's nods are a joke, as they sometimes provide some of the worst acting moments on "Glee," in my opinion."

Really? Michele, in particular, I think is phenomenal; she balances a lot of sympathetic and unsympathetic traits, and does drama and comedy equally well (her facial expressions alone during the episode where she has a crush on Mr. Schuester...).

Julia said...

Though I often wonder how much of that is acting and how much is just Lea channeling herself...

aclp said...

Drew and Nathaniel,

How could I forget Ryan Kwanten??? He is great. How difficult must it be to play a character as dumb and idiotic as Jason and not turn him into some silly charicature and not dumb him down even more to make things easier?

He is so good that you still feel for Jason-you still get to sympathize with him, while you laugh with him and at him. There's something sweet about the way he plays Jason, a naivete that meets a worldly nature and the sexual strenght of the character that make him real, yet he has terrific comic timing.

Rutina is really really good, and has quite a showy role (as far as I know, she has quite a strong theater background) but I think Tara's journey has been repetitive and that hasn't been doing Rutina any favours.

Jonathon said...

Stephen Moyer
Anna Paquin
Nelsan Ellis
Ryan Kwanten
Alexander Skarsgard
Sam Trammell
Anna Camp
Michelle Forbes
Ashley Jones
Rutina Wesley
Deborah Ann Woll

are all deserving of nominations. in my opinion. It's insane that not ONE of them garnered a nomination for True Blood.

Kim said...

Nathaniel, I just think NPH's loss last year was so egregious (another incident where I threw something in the TV's direction) that he might finally win (if not here, than maybe in the Guest Actor category). He definitely has the right episode to get him a win. I hope your theory is wrong.

Another one overdue for a win is Hugh Laurie. If he doesn't win this year, considering the House Season Premiere/Finale (which he should submit one of those two), he's never gonna win. It's gonna be tough to beat Michael C Hall, who is not only good, but also has the (I can't believe I am saying this)sympathy card with his Cancer Battle.

Andrew David said...

Jonathon... I forgot Anna Camp! She was spot-on perfection in season 2 of True Blood.

And I'm actually only watching Mad Men season 3 right now, just finished the episode with the 'tractor incident' and might I say that I desperately hope Christina Hendricks wins this year.

NATHANIEL R said...

a Christina Hendricks win would thrill so many of us. But it's going to be tough to fend off Moss while also doing battle with emmy favorites like Glenn & Baranski.

i think she's going to lose and i'm already sad about it.

BUT HAPPY FOR THE NOMINATION

Unknown said...

Either of the "Man Men" supporting actresses would suit me just fine, but if Elisabeth Moss submits last year's season finale (which she should)...

That having been said, the supporting races typically end up being where the biggest surprises happen.

Josh said...

Pacino was mentioned. awesome. No Im just joking. Im proud for Anne Hathaway because i too think she is immensely talented. I agreed with you when you said her performance in Rachel Getting Married was the best of that year and it was billion times better than Sandra Bullock in The Blind Side. I also thought she kicked ass at the oscars with Hugh Jackman. She made me believe for a minute that she was randomly picked by him.

TB said...

Best year of Emmy nominations in a long long time. Christina Hendricks and Chris Colfer?! As for Glee though, I'm pretty sure there's no way they will get this many nominations next year if the show continues in the trend of the second half of the season. They've got to get the crazy train back on the tracks.

That said, I'm happy they got so much love.

Steolicious said...

My love for ShowTime Series will not break up. Happy for True Blood, Anna Paquin and Rutina Wesley should be nominated. And I think Mary-Louise Parker did not nominated for Weeds, right? Shame.

Seeing Maggie Smith be again nominated for an Emmy is great but sometimes the Hollywood-Name is all you need.

Can´t wait of the moment when "Glee", "United States of Tara", "Nurse Jackie" finds a way to get a release in Europe. But maybe it is like the cases "Big Love" and "Curb your Enthusiasm" who never got a release. Or like "30 Rock" who is only on a really small unknown NetWork... still waiting for "Dexter" Season 3, "Weeds" Season 3,... annoying...

IslandLiberal said...

Oh, I missed this on my first read-through, but Sir Patrick Stewart got a nomination for the PBS "Hamlet"; yay, Captain Picard!

Seriously, he's maybe the best actor around who hasn't yet won any of the major awards.

jessica said...

Josh, I agree about your wonderful comments about Anne Hathaway. She was incredible on "The Simpsons"( one of the best episodes in years) - spectacular operatic singing voice, great comedic timing, flawless Long Island accent, and brought nice dramatic touches to her role. Also she had wonderful chemistry with Krusty the Clown. I hope she wins.

Blinking Cursor said...

The actors that are best in show in True Blood for me are Nelson Ellis, Deborah Ann Woll, and Ryan Kwantwan.

Really happy that Elizabeth Mitchell got a nom. Though I do concur with the other poster that she should have been nominated for her season 3 and season 5 work.

Joseph said...

These are amazing nominations for the Emmys. Yes, there are a couple stale people in there but overall there is sooooo much freshness.

My complaints are no nods for Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn, Dexter's Jennifer Carpenter and Modern Family's Ed O'Neill. Extra sad because their shows are obviously on the radar.

In terms of the True Blood discussion:
Season 1, I would have nominated Ryan Kwanten and Rutina Wesley in supporting; Lois Smith and Adina Porter in guest.

Season 2, I'd nominate Ryan Kwanten, Alexander Skarsgard, Michelle Forbes and Deborah Ann Woll in supporting and best drama series.

Alex said...

I had hopes for the incredible Jane Adams of HUNG...but got stuck with Holland Taylor again. Thanks a lot, Emmys.

Also, am I the only one who's never heard of this Jeff Bridges TV movie about a dog?

Tell me who Cox is that yall say should have been nominated?

Julia said...

Courtney Cox, from Cougar Town, also known as Monica from Friends...

Henry said...

Pretty sure thing about Parsons' nomination since he broke through last year and the Emmy voters tend not to forget that. There's just more muscle behind the nod since the show has become ratings gold for CBS. Which is why I was a little shocked Big Bang Theory didn't get into Best Comedy Series.

I've read the nominations for about six hours now and I STILL can't believe True Blood scored a Best Drama Series nod without other nominations to back it up (nothing in the Writing or Directing categories). Give that spot to Sons of Anarchy or something else!

YAY!!! GO GLEE!!! :D lol, if you haven't figured out already; i am a huge fan of Glee and so happy with all nominations especially Chris Colfer's (Kurt) :)
@Nathaniel, I didn't like the look of The Good Wife wither at first; but been watching it recently and i've become an addict; Julianna (Alisha) is amazing and so is Archie (Kalinda) funny and realy good! :)
Disappointed that Rutina Wesley or Deborah Ann Woll (Tara and Jessica) weren't nominated because they were the best of season 3 so far; in my opinion :).
