Drat! Beat me to it : ) I love this scene from Close Encounters and was just re-watching it last week. It's beautifully shot and constructed and sets up the themes about people's struggle to communicate instantly.

This is a hard one .
I should've known you're not a Star Trek fan -- I seriously thought it was from the beginning of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) but the last line of dialogue was all wrong.
I watched it the other day so it was fresh.
Love, love, love Close Encounters.
