"and here ya are. and it's a beautiful day."
It's very Fargo today. Well, visually speaking it is. As far as I know there are no pregnant cops and dead bodies nearby. But it's a blanket of white. Last night I was sitting around with friends riffing on NY's panic about "THE DEADLY BLIZZARD!" while the snow fell and immediately evaporated on the pavement outside. Coming from Detroit I have to tell you that it is to laugh what people on the East Coast think of as a "blizzard." But, lo and behold, the snow actually did rally during the sleeping hours. And now Marge Gunderson would feel right at home or at least nearing the general vicinity. You betcha!

Detroit has had a very un-white winter this year. Very odd.
Ooh. i have Detroit readers? I'm so pleased! any others out there? I visit your underrated environs often and I will always "say 'yes' to Michigan."
Detroit has a lot too offer, and while still not the safest place, it can make for a great weekend. Now if only we could figure out how to survive the next term of Kwame... more and more people leave every day and its only making things worse.
The City needs to drop the back taxes on buildings there. New businesses can't take over old buildings until the previous debts and taxes for the building are paid off. Its not fair to new businesses, and most people stray away from buying buildings in Detroit for this reason.
Nathanial, which part of Detroit are you from?
suburbs --Redford/Livonia area
I'm pretty much right in the same area. Farmington.
yay. i used to go the movies at the Farmington Civic? or something like that. it was a dollar house in the late 80s I think?
Funny you should mention that. I'm the Assistant Manager at the theater. Its not $3.00 for an adult ticket...still a bargain price! The City of Farmington bought to permanently keep it running in 1999, remodeled it and such.

The city doesn't update the website as much as they should, but there you can take a look at our main auditorium and lobby and see how much has changed!
