There was a puff piece about her in US Airways magazine this weekend. It seems to imply that she has decided to focus more on music, with acting as her side job.
I'll never get over being blown away by Juliette in "Cape Fear" when it first came out in 1991. I thought she gave the best dramatic performance I'd seen by a teenager, and really deserved the Supporting Actress Oscar she, fortunately, at least got nominated for.
I'm with you all the way on that one, Nat -- you best believe. (C'mon, all aboard the Juliette bandwagon!) It's really sad that she seems to have dropped off the radar, movie-wise. Now we all know Hollywood sucks -- they chew you up and spit you out, trust -- but surely Juliette has enough youth and cachet in the industry to at least snag choice roles in cool, edgy indies. Let's hope she mounts a comeback in a big way so that she don't sully herself with Jenny McCarthy, Carmen Electra and Paris Hiltion, and end up in the garbage bin of cinematic history -- or worse, a minor footnote in Brad Pitt's relationship past. Juliette 4-ever!
I don't think she's in any danger of being put on a list with those crazy-ass ladies Marco, don't worry!
However, somebody out there should definitely find/write some worthy vehicle for her effortless onscreen cool and (fingers crossed)an Academy comeback someday.
I love her naturalism. Even when what she's doing doesn't completely work, you still can't take your eyes off what she's doing.
I've never been as enamored by her as you have Nathaniel, but I feel your pain. I miss Kristin Scott Thomas, whose films never seem to make it to the states-I was so in love with her in the nineties, I wished she'd just start releasing her films here so I can continue the love.
But here's the thing, Rob -- Juliette already co-starred with Carmen Electra in that Starsky and Hutch movie, so it's one down, two to go (shudder)? Juliette needs a primo indie role (a la Hysterical Blindness) and stat! Come back to the big screen, J. Lew.

Which is bad considering Juliette and the Licks are. not. good.
I like her. She's quirky. Miranda July reminds me of her A LOT.
She's a scientologist now. It's time to give up.

Eech... I'd forgotten the Starsky role. I think I've blocked it out!
I haven't seen Hysterical Blindness, but keep meaning to pick it up...
