Oh and...
No post on 'This Weekend at The Movies' today. Because, I'm sorry, my choices are Click and Waist Deep? Really? Time to catch up on that stack from Netflix. I need to get that queue churning anyway. How long do your Netflix goodies sit atop your DVD player?

Generally, I get them watched either the day I get them or the next day. As long as they are sitting on top of my DVD player, I am aware that I am paying for every day I spend with them. haha
I'm had Torn Curtain for a couple of week now, but I just received Lady Snowblood the other day. They usually hang around for a few days. This last week I've had DVD from the store though.
When I'm in top form I watch them the day I get them and send them back right away (however...then netflix is poopy and doesn't send them as fast)...but recently I held on to Grease 2 and The Fabulous Baker Boys for about a month and then sent them back without watching them...stupid me...needless to say netflix is on a break right now...sine I don't have a DVD player for the summer :(
Some movies I watch the same day I receive them; but others I've had for more than 4 months. I know, I know, Netflix does great business with me...
I've taken to just burning copies of the DVDs here at work, sending them back immediately, and I get around to watching them whenever.
This is why I forsee, in a few months time, my being completely unable to manuever through my livingroom without knocking over a stack of DVDs and burying myself alive.
Does anyone know, are DVDs edible? That'd totally be good.
I just emerged from a big time Netflix logjam -- to the point where I had to just send Millions back unwatched because I was just stuck. And I don't want to hear from anyone about how good that movie was. I needed to make a change! And I've been plowing through them again recently.
I find that if I don't watch them within a couple of days of receiving them, I will let my Netflix DVDs sit for weeks. Others can come and go, but there will be that one that sits for six weeks. My most recent example was Breakfast on Pluto. I was all excited to watch it when I received it in April, but it was June before I finally did. So strange. And it seems to be a trend among us. Hmmm.
Definitely. After a while I just forget about them.

Indeed!
I've had Apocalypse Now for a year (yes, a year!), yet I quickly rotate the other two in my service (since I have a 3-at-a-time plan).
Perhaps I'm just daunted by it for some unknown reason.
nick... apocalypse now sat on my tv forever too. That happens to me especially when I know the movie is above 2 hours (which is when if the movie isn't grand that I start losing patience --i'm peculiar that way.
It's just that I've seen enough older films to know that you can tell just as much in 70-90 minutes ( if you know what you're doing as a storyteller) as most modern filmmakers can tell in 140 minutes.
but whoops ---tangent. Apocalypse Now. Just clear an evening. Totally fascinating.
