Announcing a Vampire Blog-A-Thon Monday October 30th, 2006.
Any vampiric topic will do: favorite cinematic bloodsucker, dracula film, truly batty performance, best spin on the mythos, etc... A post on your blog or site that's both fanged and filmic. Be creative and follow your muse. Let me know if you'll be joining in. I will be linking up to all bloggers who participate in order of the arrival of their link on October 30th. All bloggers are welcome, no matter the standard topic of their blog. Let's have a diverse pool of
Q: Why isn't this on Halloween?
A: Because I'm from Detroit. We start early on "Devil's Night", October 30th.
The first blog-a-thon hosted here, the Pfeiffer fest was a big hit back in April with 30+ blogs joining in. Most film centric blog-a-thons are director focused but I thought I'd go for a topic that would be appropriate for the upcoming holiday, Halloween being a favorite. For those who love reading blog-a-thons (like myself) here is a good list of other upcoming group topics around the film blogosphere.

Me too! Knowing me, I'll probably just end up writing about Buffy, but that'll do, right?
If I ruled out Buffy I imagine I'd lose lots of folks. Since it's as good as the cinema, go for it.
but for those Buffy -fanatics like myself --I'd still like to keep it more film-centric if you can somehow connect it to cinema while writing about the masterful BtVS, even better.
Sex and vampires = Cinema.
I'm in.
Ooh, I know what film I'm doing.
Count me in, Nat. I work well with deadlines.
Same here, Ali!
In fact, people should give me deadlines all the time and I'd be a happy guy.
I'll definitely do that! I'll shoot off an e-mail later.
Yay! My first blogathon! Sign me up.
Oh, and if you want something to listen to, may I recommend Testimony of Miss India.Arie?
Count me in, too!
The Boob Tubers are in. We're a TV blog, but we can link up to any number of cinematic-vampiric topics as well.
I'll have something to contribute that day, er, night. A good part of October will be turned over to horror films at my blog anyway.
SIMON!! Did you just follow my link or have you been stalking round these here back alleys of the internet?
Count me in - I might do something about homoeroticism and vampires, or maybe Hammer vampires, or, oh, the possibilities are endless!
Man, I've helped recruit TWO people for this blogathon. I feel sort of special *grin*
Richard, please do the homoeroticism one! That would be incredibly interesting.
Yay! Sounds a hoot, I'm in! Hmmmm, time to get rewatching some old faves......
My blog is a bit of a startup amateurish affair but the topic is close enough to my heart that I'll join in. It's not just an established bloggers club, is it?
Will definitely have something up by the end of the month.
Okay, I'm in! I'm going to write about Pittsburgh as a character in John Landis' Innocent Blood. Or something like that.
Certfiably Creative will definitely be into that nathaniel! Vampires are my thing!
I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in!

As I said in the email...count me in.
Ah Devil's Night. What fond memories I have of turning toward Southwest Detroit and seeing the sky glow orange. Those were the good old days.
you know I love posts like this. I will definitely pull something together, Nathaniel. :-)
I'm about to e-mail...but last night, I pulled Carl Dreyer's "Vampyre" off of TCM and onto my DVR. So, I'm on. Sorry, however, I have nothing to see about neurolinguistic programming -- too busy having my thetans removed.
Count me in too Nathaniel! So glad to find somebody else in the blogosphere who experienced the yearly "Devil's Night" newscast ritual in MI.
