...what on god's green earth will she wear? Fashion usually isn't a problem for that one but how can she possibly top Cecilia's emerald dress? And don't we kind of expect her to?

The lack of all the fashions on the red carpet is perhaps the most depressing thing to me right now about the possible ceremony cancellation.
I actually think it would be in poor taste for Keira to show up wearing THE dress. It's already been done, and it's preserved on celluloid forever. Give us something new Ms. Knightley - you're fabulous enough, you can definitely top yourself.

I think she's very unlikely to show up at the Oscars. She doesn't seem to attend red carpet events unless she absolutely has to.
That green dress - or one of them at least - is going to be auctioned off for some charity, btw.

She's never attended an awards ceremony where she wasn't nominated. I'm sure she'll show up at the BAFTAs this weekend, though.
Would she even be able to attend the Oscars if she wanted to? I'm sure the number of tickets is limited and the film has got a number of actual nominees who must take precedence.
She can’t wear that green dress, because according to the costume designer, that dress is very fragile in real life. The material kept tearing, which is why they had to make several versions of it.
It would be wonderful if she wore that dress though.

Well, considering the movie she stars in is nominated for seven oscars inc best picture I'm sure they'd rather have her there than any number of old geezers who show up every.single.year. purely because they can.
If the show does go on I just hope they allow someone other than Jack Nicholson to present best picture. Also, someone other than Cameron Diaz to present animated feature and someone other than Queen Latifah to present best original song. Is it so hard to mix things up a bit?

It think it would be really cool to have Louis Jordan and Leslie Caron do best picture...50th anniversay of "GiGi". other best pic ideas: Faye Dunaway & Warren Beatty do best pic (40 years since bonnie & clyde)? It can't be that every academy member is guaranteed a place because there's nowhere near room enough for that. So do they go by seniority?

How about Kiera in the wet slip as she came out of the fountain? Then again, she'd look fine in anything, or nothing for that matter (see the drug trip scene in Domino).
How about that red one she wore for the Coco Mademoiselle perfume commercial? That was equally as gorgeous. She should definately wear something 30's/40's inspired. It would wipe the floor with all the usual puffed up normal ones.
She should do what Julie Christie did at SAG and wear a suit. That would be cool.
I think Keira would look great in a suit. She has a sort of old fashioned androgyny look. She reminds me of Grace Jones on occasion, which is very bizarre if I say so myself.
Keira won't wear a suit. She's not Julie Christie or Diane Keaton (nothing wrong with that). She'll probably wear some dress that will blow everyone away.
Keira Knightley had the most beautiful dress eva @ the 2008 Oscars. I'm sure she'll think of something!
