uncomfortably similar to my real life, for the first thirty minutes.
the best of the year so far and Pixar's best since Toy Story.
possibly the greatest movie ever made. I'd say I know how people felt when they saw 2001 or ET or Toy Story in the theaters, but this is even better than those. It's that good.
scary and not on my to do list, but for people who's main relationships in life are their computers, cellphones and i-pods, I can see how this might be endearing.
just as adorable and great as we thought it would be.
very nearly a perfect film. The finest achievement of Pixar's thus far, eclipsing even the tonal brilliance of 'The Incredibles'. A magnificent commentary (without coming across as preachy), a kind and compassionate love story and the most humane and optimistic of post-apocolyptic features I've ever seen. The Tin Man finally found his heart.
...absolutely charming. The fire extinguisher dance scene is one of the best things I've ever seen.

a masterpiece. Who would have thought that an animated movie containing little dialogue would make such true statements about consumption, consumerism and our society, about love & relationships? The film gracefully walked a fine line between a bleak glimpse at our future and hopeful optimism.
Absolutely brilliant. Excellent writing, wonderful graphics, an amazing soundtrack by Mr. Newman and an easy Best Original Song nom for Mr. Gabriel. Also quite profound in every way - tackles a bleak subject and gets its message through perfectly without being preachy.
Although WALL-E was so great I almost forgot about it, did anyone else also love that rabbit-in-a-hat short at the beginning?

...sounding pretty unbelievable, right now. It's not quite arrived here yet, but judging by these comments I'm going to have to be there on opening night!
a trifle overrated.
It's good, mind you...just not hyperbole-worthy. I still think "The Incredibles" is Pixar's best work, with a better story and with animation that is perfect for animated characters, instead of striving to be more and more realistic. That effort has begun to be a distraction from, rather than an enhancement to, the story.
HYPED HYPED HYPED to the point where everyone who's not excited is sickened.

I can't say anything negative about this movie. absolutely endearing. (I know this is gonna sound corny cuz it is but...)For those who have big hearts and open minds, its a great love story with references to great movies of the past. A masterpiece and possibly Pixar's best work. I loved it.

the Greatest American full-length animated film of all time (okay, there's a mouthful.) I've never fully embraced Pixar, I've liked most of their flicks, but never to the extent that everyone else has. This breaks through everything. A purely cinematic film.
....just about the only thing that the people at Awards Daily seem to care about.

A film I wanna see!
Truly impeccable. I've always loved Pixar's work (the only thing I haven't seen is "Cars", but I need to if I want to consider myself a true fan), and this is arguably Pixar's best--a perfect balance between a love story, a sci-fi movie, and a family outing.
I work at a theatre in my town, and I consistently see people walking out of the theatre laughing and some crying.

clearly the best Pixar film, and one that'll likely stay the best of 08 in my book.
brilliant... and redemption for Andrew Stanton who previously directed the two worst PIXAR films to date.
better than Cars and A Bug's Life, but (far) worse than the other near perfect films in Pixar's (near) flawless filmography.
I don't know how anyone could think it wasn't preachy, easy, or flawed. Still - Pixar's 3rd worst is better than just about anything else out there. Wonderful, beautiful film. Though outrageously over-hyped, over-praised, and agreed upon.
...but really, what the F was with Fred Willard AND animated humans? Honestly?
The best movie of 2008 so far. But can we (a) have enough of critic after critic using "Chaplin-esque" like they're reading it off the same teleprompter, (b) put an end to said critics saying the film "has little dialogue" or is "nearly silent." Um, did they watch past the 40 minute mark? There's quite A LOT of dialogue...

Simply the best film I've seen in 10 years. Hands down pixar's greatest film, and considering how much I enjoyed the others, that's saying a lot. Never has character development of this calibre been accomplished through nearly zero dialog. INCREDIBLE graphic detail only makes it all the more real for me. Distract? How can something this real looking distract?
