Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice. Maybe the definitive "Now" movie of the late 60s. Elliot Gould was the sexy, quirky, it guy of his day, although I found Robert Culp to be hotter.

I am, of course, far too young to have seen this movie when it came out, but I remember it created a sensation. I'm sure it was rated "M." I love the scene in the white Caddy convertible, cruising down the traffic-free LA freeway.

i love this movie too
i seriously love it
though i often feel like no one has seen it

its so discussable and yet no one discusses...

to my mind its one of the best natalie wood performances. I think some people think she's trying to hard in it (not a natural comedienne but stronger in drama) but i think the 'trying too hard' is perfect for that character who is so TRYING to be a new version of herself for the whole film

I don't think anyone has seen it, at least not for a long time. Has it been forgotten? I don't know, but I hope not. That would be a curious fate for a movie that created such a stir. I thought it wisely tapped into the sexual confusion and uncertainty of the time. I agree about Natalie's performance. I thought she truly understood her character.
