Angelina Distraught! Angelina Hoodwinked! Angelina Institutionalized! Angelina Hosed Down!

It's the All Angelina all the time trailer to Clint Eastwood's thriller Changeling

I love how meek her voice sounds at the beginning. But I could live without the plate smashing. It gives me nightmares of the ubiquitous Oscar baiting In the Bedroom sequence. Other notes: Had no idea that John Malkovich's role was large. Also interesting that Denis O'Hare, who assisted Angie in A Mighty Heart is pitted against her here. And finally, the LAPD... they just can't catch a break in the movies, can they? They're always the villains.

I love the fact she's left-handed.

It looks like it could be decent... or as interesting as Flags Of Our Fathers (aka a snoozefest). Eitherway, I'll be seeing it.

You post the Angelina trailer but not the Kate one! Who are you? You didn't see my post OR you ignored me! I'm hurt! Alright, seriously. In case you didn't see it, here is Revolutionary Road's trailer (as part of the ET program). http://simplyleonardodicaprio.com/

Changeling looks interesting. Angelina looks just OK. Alright, I don't like man stealers. So there. :p

PS: I really hope Angelina doesn't take the award from the two queens (Meryl, Kate). That would be 1) unfair, 2) VERY annoying!

well let's not characterize any wins as unfair and annoying before we see all three performances. we don't know anything about who deserves this year just yet ;)

and anon --i'll post it as soon as there's an actual trailer and not Mary Hart talking over clips ;)

although i'm really worried about REVOLUTIONARY ROAD after these clips. Do they have to spell out themes and subject in every line of dialogue? yikes.

I'm hoping Jolie gets an Oscar nomination for this film, and not snubbed like she was in A Mighty Heart. I've read the script for this film and it's a really good character film.

I'm glad to see her turning in some good performances. She seemed to have lost her way for awhile. She did a fine job in A Mighty Heart and this trailer really drew me in. Looks good.

Meh. Jolie looks solid (though her carriage doesn't suggest period at all), Malkovich looks bad (what is with that intonation), but it looks (art direction, costume design, cinematography especially) divine.

I agree that we need to see the complete performances to judge but, really, Kate and Meryl should be really out of shape to act less good than Angelina. As for the "trailer", I thing we more or less knew the themes (at least the information was out there for anyone interested).

PS: I hope my first post didn't sound hostile or anything, it was clearly humorous.

If lots of people considered Emily Blunt better in Prada, and Catherine Zeta Jones won an Oscar over Streep, then Streep is vulnerable. Same goes with Winslet who has lost the Oscar 5 times. And yes, I did think Hilary Swank deserved to win.

I didn't say they CAN'T lose. I said it would be unfair THIS TIME. Dear, I only want what is fair. I want every one to get what they deserve. I just think a win by either Kate or Meryl would probably be fair this year. But I can wait and see. I think :p

Jim's insinuation of fair sounds less "merit-based" and more like "entitled" to me. Yikes!

Watching this, I just kept thinking, "why Angie?" Lots of actresses could've played this woman. And I hate to say it (cliche and all), but I just kept thinking "Julianne Julianne Julianne" the whole time. Angie even sounded like she was actually imitating Julie in the beginning. Something about her delivery was very Carol White/Amber Waves.

I also don't wanna see Streep or Winslet lose this year (either of them... but especially not BOTH). I still think one of them will take it. It'd take a Theron-in-Monster type phenomenon to take them down.

you're so into details, people... i like that:)

I actually really liked the first half of the trailer and then the whole thing about the psych ward and yada yada yada I lost some interest. I'm on board with Angie though, she looks solid. But, honestly, in a year with the likes of Streep, Winslet, Kidman, Hawkins, Hathaway, Leo, Scott Thomas, Burstyn, Theron... it'll be hard to anyone to stake a claim on the category.

In regards to Revolutionary Road, did anybody else notice the nod and the wink to Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? I reckon that's quite intentional on Mendes' behalf, giving his wife a big giant emotional roadside argument to win her the Oscar. But, early days still...

Hey! That scene in 'In The Bedroom' was one of the best acted scenes of the decade!

You know what else is great about 'In the Bedroom'? *in shrilled to perfection voice* "EVERYTHING!"

I love that comment about how meek her voice sounds, thats the first thing i noticed too.
Angie looks great, despite the fact that the trailer descends into "JUST TELL ME HE'S OKAAAAY" territory.

I think the trailer misleads people to think its a mental hospital film. I've read the script and there only at most 5 small scenes in the looney bin. The film does not center on that.

JoFo ---i actually like the plate scene in IN THE BEDROOM in the context of the film (and the whole movie is impeccably acted) but i really hate it out of context and for whatever reason it was the only clip anybody showed of it all Oscar season. argh!

uh oh, i think i smell a nomination for Angelina.

"I want my [Oscar] back. I want MY [Oscar} back!" (dish flies and crashes on wall)

My instant thought after watching the trailer: Angie, to get respected again you have to go back to the loon house... But... That gave you an Oscar, for Chrissake!

And yes, Sissy ruled in that scene. She made an instant classic.

Angelina (PLATE SMASH!!!) vs. MERYL! (That Trailer!) vs. Kate vs. Sally vs. Anne. Can't. Breathe. This is gonna be a crazy Oscar season.

So, Angelina has decided she has to play "victim" to get Oscar love?

this is so "meh" to me. Haven't we seen this in a thousand made for TV movies - without the hosing, at least, which incidentally (in the way it's cut in the trailer at least) verges on either pornography or Weimar-era fantasies.
