And that is why this is my favorite blog.

OK I KNOW you just forgot about Golden Compass in visual effects, because it's not there ANYWHERE and you have said how much you like the effects and how they deserve a nod over other things that you listed here. And you also like the film more than most.

Even I think the effects are pretty much award-worthy and I didn't care much for the film...

I love the picture so much, I don't even want to click the link yet. (I mean, don't worry; I will, in 5-10 seconds.)

How much do I love to see Lust, Caution here for Best Costume? A lot. I love it a lot. Thank you for doing that.

I also love to see Sunshine there for visual effects, definitely some of the best of the year.

Also very nice to see La Vie En Rose, despite your dislike of the movie.

Loving all of these thus far.

That picture truly is to die for. Wow… just, wow.

Anyway, I'm lovin the latest Film Bitch nominees- particularly in the costume category. However I think people our being way too hard on the ELIZABETH attire. Say what you will about the art direction but damn, the design and detail on those lavish gowns was simply gorgeous. And I’m also a little disappointed to see John Dunn’s eclectic, period wear for I’M NOT THERE didn’t even make your semi-finalists. Oh well, I’m just thrilled both JESSE JAMES and LUST, CAUTION made it in.

Once again; can’t wait for more. :)

That juxtaposition of Rita and Jessica Rabbit reminds me how much of an inspiration both sources were in the creation of "Satine" (and where is she btw?) I love that you found a place for Tilda's "Orlando". I love that dress.

I'm surprised you left out Stardust in make-up - Pfieffer's ravaged aging was astonishing and yet completely plausible in an over-the-top way. I was watching the performance, not the latex. (But then again I saw it on a 13" TV screen so it might not have come across the same on the big screen.)

The Pfeiffer work is fine in stardust but i didn't really care for the rest of the work on the other characters --too cartoony. And I hated the special effects and why, when the makeup is relatively good on Pfeiffer did they have to CGI her growl? So silly (and not in the good way)

grrr. I have issues with Stardust. But I'm glad lots of people like it more than me. The book is really terrific and it's nice to see Pfeiffer get audience love again

It's OK, Nat, the academy will probably make the same mistake.

Except they won't be able to take it back...
